i've seen people load up garageband instrument samples into the reason nn-xt sampler, so there's no reason why you couldn't do the same for a sampler hosted in protools.

i don't know anything about this particular package, but my experience with audio production ear training has been fantastic. methodical drills help more than you'd believe, and i just can't recommend them highly enough.
