aphex compellor 300 help please

I picked one up after reading a bit about them and how transparent they are. I googled the daylights out of it and there is no manual to be had. I have some basic questions that I am hoping some of you can help with. Is the in/out switch basically a bypass button? I was running the mix through it an...

Help with sample rate/word length @ Masterlink ?'s

These might be some redundant/dumb questions. I have been using a Ghost to record to an HD24 and then mixed down to an old stand alone cd burner. The cd burner (tascam cd-rw5000) finally decided it was done and I bought an Alesis Masterlink. The Masterlink has a lot more sample rate/word length opti...

Fostex cr500

My old tascam burner of over 10 years is not working right anymore. Even with 16x or less discs, It wont format the disc right most of the time. I figured it might be best to move on even though I love it. The only affordable option with balanced in's and out's seems to be the Fostex cr500. Anybody ...

Erwin Schulhoff.

His first string quartet is one of the greatest ever. Another sad casualty of Nazi cruelty.

Thats what I have been doing mostly for years. Lately, Its been me behind my Ghost, sitting and playing my bass and watching levels while we record our improvised post rock epics. At times there are two guitarist, two electronic/laptop guys, cello and drums. Its a lot to keep track of and keep going...

Crown d-75 power amp off of evil bay. I've wanted one for a while but I didn't think it would sound that much better than my crappy Samson, but I was pleasantly wrong. Came with the original manual and quality control sheet. Makes my JBL 4312's happy.

I play reeds. One thing to keep in mind that a clarinet produces sounds from the sound holes as much as the bell. If you just mic the bell, you will get a misleading representation of it sound. This is even more apperant in its big brothers the alto and bass clarinet. The sax produces most, all thou...

You need to check out this album that he actually plays on. This record came out in the same famous series as the Stockhuasen, Ligetti, Morton Feldman, Xenakis, etc..... pretty heavy company. Its a very cool LP if you enjoy the avant garde. http://www.discogs.com/Gruppe-Nuova-Consonanza-Improvisatio...
