FS: Yamaha M1516 (Milwaukee / Chicago area)

I moved into a new studio with a Neotek, so I'm selling this one. $350 takes it. Pickup only. Fully working. PSU is included. There's tons of info online for this one, but here's the lowdown: Basically a PM-2000 electrically but in a smaller packeage. 16X4 with high-quality Tamura transformers on al...

FS: Fostex B-16 w/Remote & Extras AND Sovtek MIG-60

My band is touring Japan in less than two months, and I don't have a plane ticket yet. So here goes... Fostex B-16 16-track half-inch analog recorder with 4050 remote. The deck has Dolby C noise reduction selectable. Track 16 doesn't record which probably just means the #16 channel card needs to be ...

I replaced my old shack iron last year with their 2 temp station iron. I figured it would be all I needed. Well, they don't stock tips for that iron in their stores. if you are talking about the 15W/30W pencil-type iron you are mistaken. both the 15-watt and the 25?-watt tips work fine as replaceme...

definitely check with tascam first for parts for a 38. people often buy easily available parts from tascam and sell them for a sizeable profit on ebay.

good on tascam though. they still support a product from 20+ years ago. most prosumer compaines would be trying to froce you to "upgrade".

why don't you take the pot that's connected to the fader and use that as the main output volume control? then you don't have to rewire anything. just take your output from C37 (the brown wire connected to the pan pot).

i'm having the same problem with my 38. after playing for a few seconds the tape slips off of the capstan away from the deck. i'm also getting quite a bit of warble. my guess is that i need a new capstan belt. any other ideas?

Re: john golden still kicks ass

he's unbelievable.

the last record we did with him was a 6-minute/side 7-inch. due to a miscommunication he accidentally cut it at 45rpm instead of 33, and it still sounded amazing.

Re: WANTED: Yamaha PM-1000

here's a quote from fletcher on rec.audio.pro regarding the $2500 price tag... ...everything that is owned by the company has to be made available for purchase. It's part of the company charter which was made years ago. Now, I'm not the most affluent of people, so there are actually some things that...

WANTED: Yamaha PM-1000

I'm looking for a fully functional Yamaha PM-1000 that I can mod into a workable recording desk.

I do not plan on parting it out for profit on ebay.

Thanks much
