Re: Alesis HD24 - Still a decent option?

I found this thread searching for options to replace or supplement my Alesis HD24. I am thinking about the UTrack 24 as a real time back up and usb interface for transfers. Currently, we are using HD 24 tools and a usb hack for the transfers. Good Stuff! https://ringbreak.dnd.utwente.nl/~mrjb/hd24to...

YES. Make sure they work. Basically an M500 without the vocal contour.
I have used them on piano and vocals in a sparse mix or as a sibilant killer, for those vocals that are really Ssss ey

Amp simulator INTO an AMP

I been going through many of my options here with player / friends. All can be good, But ALL sound better going through a real amp and miced. 70% of the time, If I supply the amp it's going to be either a Peavey Clasic 30 or a Fender Bassman Head (Bassman 70 silverface). SO, between a Pod, JStation,...

If properly maintained - and that is a huge part of the equation. When New and functioning at top level. The 38 will sound better. But honistly.....no to be a basher here the mixer section was never as good as the recorder section on the 'combo' unit. I don't know how much material upgrade it will a...

Re: hammond question

If a Hammond doesn't have a "start" and a "run" switch it's not a tonewheel organ and thus almost worthless... M series,a dn other "spinets" can by found for $50-100 if you look around a little. Some of the smaller tone wheel modles have only one switch. There are fewer wheels and don't require the...

Re: Roland SDE Digital Delays

To me the efectron stuff has always been garbage. On the other hand the SDE delays are rather classy. I really like these. Back in the day, these were rivals of the lexicon PCM 41s not efectron.

Re: TL-Audio M-3 Mixer.

All the old TL audio gear was hybrid. No idea what is happpening now, but I would inspect the circuit topology before you go and get excited about a tube mic pre. all their old "tube mic pre's" used an IC opamp for gain with a tube in for color... NO! NOT all of there gear is hybrid. They have been...

Re: Tascam 38 1/2" ?

I used this machine for years. Notice what has been said: Red Rockets Glare spent $500 on it then $300 for repair. morte sicura $350 then $275 to have it set up. You really can't align these at home. You have to get an expert. FWIW get a Real Authorized TASCAM facility. The real pro machines are mad...
