Re: New Orleans style horn section

I was thinking of just getting them all around one omni mic and going straight to a single track :D

Also, is @Sweetbeats a member here? If anyone can help you troubleshoot this machine it's him.

If he isn't try posting on the analog sub forum of www.homerecording.com

Re: Finally Acquired Tascam 388 and need Sage Advice!

Can I just be the first point out that the Access Send jacks are OUTPUTS and not inputs.

So if you're getting signal into the machine through one there's something very wrong.

Re: Mixing a band with a single, mono electric guitar

Thanx! The first is a jizzmaster-type guitar into effect pedals with a single mic onna ProJr amp. The fecund is a The Paul guitar into a Tech 21 Cali pedal and a EBS reverb pedal, DI'd. Both songs are mixed thru a global compressor and reverb patch. There are kinda abbreviated notes in the "lyrics"...

No, I mean the elements. Like... Two trumpets, trombone and tuba, maybe?

Re: Do I Know Anyone With a 388 and Mad Drum Skillz?

I've been working on arranging my gear to simplify my workflow. I think I need a rack and patchbay.

Re: Do I Know Anyone With a 388 and Mad Drum Skillz?

Actually, I'm okay with that idea. Any advice on packaging? I don't want my sloppily recorded rough tracks wiped clean by an over enthusiastic DHS employee.

Re: Printing An Effect To Its Own Tape Track

Thanks for confirming that my crazy idea is the right crazy idea. Now I just need to find someone to play the kit that's in my closet (preferably someone with a snare, kick beater pedal, hats and cymbals). Now... Would you use an enhancer/exciter on the bounce? Even if that enhancer/exciter was a Be...

Re: Printing An Effect To Its Own Tape Track

Would I need to use a separate mic on the snare for the reverb or could use the aux/effects send to channel the snare signal to the 1201 and then bring it back into the mixer on another channel bussed to a second track? Picture it like this Track 1 is a guide vocal Track 2 is snare mic Track 3 is ki...

Printing An Effect To Its Own Tape Track

Let's say I want to use my Zoom 1201 (yeah, I'm old school) to add a plate reverb to snare and room to the overall kit. Since I only have the one 1201 I obviously can't do both at once. But what I can do is to print the snare (or the overhead, does it really matter?) reverb to a separate track on my...

Re: Do I Know Anyone With a 388 and Mad Drum Skillz?

Actually, I was going to send a reel of tape. I've got eight new songs that I wrote back in 2011/12 for a band I was in at the time. My plan was to record guide vox and click tracks for each song and then get bass and drums down. I'm currently engaged in completing the first part. My other option is...
