Re: MXL Royer Mod Comparison MP3's Before/After
That's cool. I got the MXL with the intention of doing the mod, but haven't saved up the grease to get the kit yet. It's a subtle difference in each track. I heard it most succinctly in the tamborine track. It's like you could hear the tamborine a little bit better, more of the ambiance of the rattl...

Re: compression question from other question
Hi all, Pretty much whenever I see a subject with compression mentioned, I read it because I still struggle with compression a lot. Sometimes I get what I think I was trying to do, and lots of times I just get confused and have to get out a recording book start from suggestions. There are some great...

Re: Who's using electronic drums??
I have not tried this, but I am really interested in this as well. I've got a decent sequencer, but it would make things so friggin much easier if I could just play the part into the sequencer instead of tapping it out. I'd really be interested in hearing about the equipment available at various pri...

Re: Who here Sails?
I'm actually in Austin. There is a good sized resevoir just up stream from Austin called lake Travis. That's where I've been doing all of my sailing. It's nice, some days there can be a few too many speed boats and wave runners but it's fun. I haven't had the chance to take my boat out to the coast,...

Re: Who here Sails?
Wow cool! Yeah let me know how it goes. I know there is quite a bit of info on the good old internet about sewing ones own sails too.
Do you think you'll do any sailing in Puget sound? When I was a kid I went sailing with one of my dad's friends somewhere on there. That was a blast.
Ahoy!

Re: Who here Sails?
Mine is a 14'er called an O'Day O'Spray. Built in 1964. It's a nice wide day sailer. Not the fastest thing on the lake, more a relaxation kind of ride. It also has a nice spot for beer and sanguiches, arrr. Big problem right now is that the last time I went sailing last summer, the main sail got som...

Re: Who here Sails?
I love sailing. I'm excited to get the little boat out in the water pretty soon. my boat is about the same size as yours. Totaly fun.
Man. Now I'm not going to be able to stop thinking about sailing for the rest of the day.

I personaly never rated satriani any higher than I would rate kenny g or michael bolton. But I remember back when other guitar buddies of my would just cream over satriani. Or eric johnson too. gawd.

Re: critique my lyrics - and post some of your own!
I like both of y'alls songs actually. No joke. I just like to take my pain over easy with toast with a side foul mouthed happy song from the gutter of the mind. I do like the theme of the woe and hardship of real life in the workforce. Here is another gander at the way we pander. Ok here's the setup...

Re: critique my lyrics - and post some of your own!
Well, as long as nobody is going to play critic with your lyrics, here are some lyrics of my own. I've been afraid to post them because the topic is near and dear to my heart and I haven't wanted to subject myself to the shredder. But oh well. I think I'm strong enough. Here goes. ..2..3..4 I've got...

Re: What decent mics does Radio Shack have today?
Hi, I don't know the model number or anything, but I got a $15 stereo mic from radioshack that I use with my minidisk recorder for gathering samples and field recordings. It's actually, two little tiny mics roughly the size of old school earbud headphones with an 1/8 in minijack on the other end. th...

Re: best Hammond B3 clone to plug into a Leslie Speaker?
I've got an old Hammond Spinet. I think it's known as a M3.
But anyway, I got it for free, and I know you can sometimes find them dirt cheap, because their not B3s or C3s so people don't think they're worth anything. BUT, it sounds great through the leslie, has drawbars and that Hammond sound.
