Online hosting of live shows.

Hello, all. I have a venue at which I have recorded the vast majority of shows for the past 5 years. I would like to put an archive of these shows on our website, sort of an on demand radio station of every show we have recorded. What are the legal aspects ofthis? ASCAP? Discuss.

Workaround? Yeah... The eraser end of a pencil. Perfect for button pushing. I agree, it's a total pain in the ass, but I love this board otherwise. Now if the pre's had just a little more gain...

iso rooms

yes, part of the design that I am NOT tossing out is the inclusion of two amp isolation rooms. I have definitely found need for these in the past, and have loved when I have been in environments that allowed for such.

Vocal Booth Or Not?

I am currently in the planning stages of a studio expansion. My current room setup consists of a 400 sq. ft. live room, 300 sq ft controll room, and a small (about 150 sq ft) lounge area. I have the opportunity to renovate another adjoining space that measures approximately 30' x 40', and I am wonde...

Fidelity

Okay, I have not taken the time to read all of the responses to this topic but here is my opinion anyway. Example one: Really good local band trashes their previously recorded material to re-record the album at a world famous band's private studio. Result? Technically superb sounding record with abs...

hmmm

If you record a record and the artist gives you a check at the end of the project then you are a recording studio. If you record a record and recieve a percentage of the profits from said record, and no end-of-day check, then you are a record label. It's all about immediate gratification vs. long te...

Hmmm...

Even though I am usually on the side of the artist, this seems like a good compromise to me. The internet radio system is in the unenviable position of being the future of the medium, but without a solid or supported earnings structure. 2015 is only six years away, so these guys are not getting a fr...

ok

Ahhh... Much easier. Set up about at a point that's about a third of either the width or length, put a gobo behind each speaker and behind your listening position. This would be the absolute minimum. Beyond that you could get into bass trapping in the corners, absorbtion on the first reflection poin...

Depends

What are you looking to accomplish? Gobos will help give you separation between your instruments, especially if you put them around the drums, but won't do much "soundproofing". If you want a truly isolated acoustic space then the only option is to go whole hog and float a section of floor and build...

I'm in a turn of the century apple packing shed. 10000 square foot wooden industrial space, essentially, but only about 1000 of it is renovated for studio use at the moment. The rest is occupied by a coffee house/music venue, wood working shop, and defunct antique store. Yeah, grandma, wanna make a ...

I use the 1884 with cubase 4 and it works very well. Be sure to be careful about connecting/disconnecting mic's with the phantom power on, though, as I've heard horror stories about blown preamps.
