in the 15 yrs i have been playing, i've come to two conclusions about gain pedals: boosts and fuzzes are the only things worth purchasing, IMO. distortion from a pedal is fine for recording but always lacks definition live. if you're going for a clean boost/TS vibe, go with a ZVex SHO or a Psionic A...
