The power plug is extremely noisy, unusably so. I tried to use one with a Shure SM7, more or less an ideal candidate for adding gain to a dynamic mic. Horridly noisy, even on relatively loud sources (aka, exactly what you wouldn't need the extra gain for). So yeah, don't waste your dough. Let us kno...

I really would not be hunting for this one based on a specific model of guitar. You're going to drive yourself nuts and, in my limited experience, most acoustic guitars played with old dead strings sound remarkably similar recorded. I'm not saying there aren't subtle differences, there certainly are...

Martin 000-15S (Slotted Headstock, 12 Fret Body)-SOLD
Hey all, Selling a Martin 000-15S, and a really lovely example at that. Almost no fret wear, had a K&K Pure Western installed (a great sounding, invisible/unobtrusive pickup), and comes with a case. There is a tiny bit of the rosette missing, but aside from that the guitar is in excellent condition....

I'm salivating over the vintage modified basses, particularly this one: http://www.squierguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=0326902500 I've yet to wander into a shop that has one, but the few reviews I've read are glowing (but what reviews aren't these days). I also have an old JP-90 (anyone rem...

Studio Projects C1 w/ shockmount, case, and pop screen -$150
Hey all, Raising money for another purchase by selling this--a Studio Projects C1 with shock-mount, pop screen and hard case. A little crispy on the top end, and overall a really wonderful microphone. On the right vocalist it just kills. The mic is mint, the shock mount is missing a support, and thu...

Studio Projects C1 -$185
Hey gang, Studio Projects C1 with shock-mount, wind screen and hard case. A little crispy on top, but overall a really wonderful microphone. On the right vocalist it just kills. The mic is mint, the shockmount is missing a support, and thusly is a little wonky, though still functional. You pay shipp...

Looking for a realtime spectrum analyzer. Any recs?
Hey all, Looking for a 31 band analyzer and not having a ton of luck finding them. Recently did a mix project in a studio with one and I found it really helpful. Can't remember that unit for the life of me, might of been this one, the only one I can find online: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detai...

WTB: Tascam 424 (mk whatever)
Hey guys, With the holidays approaching I'm sure there's someone here who wouldn't mind getting rid of their old 424. Buying one for my friend who is just getting into recording. What's standard these days? 100-150? Tell me what you're thinking. Thanks!! -Eric ericandersonmusic@gmail.com PS: Also wo...

There is no answer to this question. If you want to say digital say it's easy to edit, there are levels of undo, it's cheap and mobile and easy to maintain. If you want to say tape say there is no latency, that whatever kind of harmonic distortion it produces it usually pleasing to the ear. This is ...
