Mixer with an "A/B" switch? Does such a thing exis
This is probably a stupid question, but I've been searching Google, etc, and have yet to get usable results... I want an outboard mixer for my studio -- 16 channels, with direct outs on each, so I can put it in front of my Digi 002 and Motu 896 (each has 8 outs). Here's the "catch", if you will... S...

WTB: Shure "beta green" BG mics
Hi all, I'm looking to buy some of the Shure BG (beta green) series drum mics. If anybody has extras laying around you'd like to sell, please let me know. Ideally I'd like 1 or 2 of the BG 4.1 "overheads", and 3 or 4 of the tom mics (the exact model number of which escapes me maybe it's BG 3.5? some...

WTB: MBox1 w/ all the plugins/bundle
Due to a registraion mishap, it looks like I may be getting screwed out of the bundled plugins (Joe Meek, Bomb Factory, etc) that *should* have already been paid for when I bought my Digi 002. I'm hoping to remedy this by buying someone's MBox with all the CDs on the cheap. Anybody out there looking...

Looking for shows in Portland/Seattle - mid Feburary
Hi all, I hope this doesn't go too far off topic... I'm a singer/songwriter putting together a solo/acoustic tour for late Janunary/February and we're having trouble nailing down venues in the Seattle and Portland areas. I know several people here are from those areas, I'm hoping somebody can help o...

I have no info for you, but I'd like to throw a "yes, please post if you have info on this" into the discussion. I'm looking to hook up a PC *and* Mac G5 to my MOTU 896, in hopes of being able to route effects off the PC, and track them onto the Mac. If anyone has info on this, please post it. thanks.

There is an 002 rack-only unti. it's 2U in size. there is a desktop-only until, the "control surface" or "table top" or whatever other people call it, i can't remember the model variation number off the top of my head. functionally it does the same thing as the rack unit plus it has 8 physical fader...

I just bought the control surface (tho it's not hooked up yet, but the rationale below is why I spent the money). For me, psychelogically, I *much* prefer setting the "pan" control with a knob than turns rather than a side-to-side fader like you have to do with the mouse. Also, myself and some addit...

50 tracks huh? What are the specs on your hard drive? Are these all audio (not MIDI) tracks? For a machine trying to play back that many tracks at once, the machines I see usually have at least 1GB of memory, or even more. 512MB might be pushing part of it. You could also try doing some of these tip...

I completely agree with the first half of that last post -- I too *refuse* to hook up my DAW to the outside world for any reason. I've got that box running 8in, 8out, 24/96 and i don't want ANYthing screwing up my projects. It doesn't have a mode or NIC in the box anywhere, and I go extra lengths to...

Combo patch bays for a MOTU896?
Hi all, I hate asking this because I think it makes me sound like I have no idea what I'm doing (which is probably more true than I want to admit!) but... For those if you not familiar with MOTU896's and probably similar units, all of it's connections are on the back (they're actually the "combo" co...
