For my little home set up I have an M-box, a small mixer and some powered event monitors. The speakers make a higher pitch hum but only when pro tools is open. If I close pro tools it goes away. why is this?

So I just finished a song for this rapper and he has one more request. He wants me to take this intro from a 2pac song and paste it before his track. The intro is like 10 to 15 seconds long. Is this okay or should I tell him sorry, the law prohibits me from doing this. Thanx

That's cool. I like tapehead but haven't found a great use for it yet. Can you post some clips? Before and after would be great if possible.

I have Ozone and don't really use it that often. I prefer the Waves C4 compressor way over Ozones. The maximizer it okay but check out massey's Limiter and you won't go back. Over all it's okay, but I don't do any mastering or put anything on my mix bus usally, so it may be alright for your needs.

Just about any cheap mixer would work good for him for hobby speakers.

Just say you stay there after late sessions when you've drank to much. I use to sleep at the place I interned at in Seattle a lot just because the bus didn't run late enough.

I'm in the process of mastering a compilation with about ten different artist. What are some tricks to get everything at the same volume. some things have a handful of instruments and other are completely layered.
