If your OH's are phasing, maybe try a technique like XY or Blumlein (2 fig-8 mic's in XY) or M-S. After trying these, I don't see the need to take a chance on a spaced pair. For room mics on a guitar cab or something, try delaying the distant mic 20-30 ms if they start to phase. If you compress with...

Yeah, all my close mic'ed drums sound like shit too until you bring up the OH/room mics. I figured it was a fact of life. I use a 57 on snare because I don't have anything better at the moment, and I just use it for the "crack" and the rest of the sound comes from the OH's. I've tried a Rode NT-1 on...

Dismal, I know. I record a different band pretty much every weekend with this setup.

You can hear some of them here: alklfjfnglawuehfl;kmv

I'm most proud of the Blame Game song that's up for download, but I've done better since then.

I love this machine!

Tascam 388 record head.

Hi everybody - Just this weekend during a "session" I ran into this problem: Track 1 will not print to tape. Signal is getting to the channel, the meter is working, yes, and it will play back just fine, but nothing's getting to tape. I'm in a real tough spot until this gets fixed, I've got bands wai...
