I think a big part of the confusion is that when you look at a schematic, usually the positive voltage supply lines are drawn toward the top of the page, and negative ones toward the bottom of the page. It's the opposite here. That transistor Q4 sits between its 2 voltage supply lines, but the one ...

Ned
You mean the actuality (my hand-drawn schematic) is F'ed, and not the original schematic, right???

I'm gonna have time on wednesday to work on this, I'll post again soon.

Yeah, the 'scope has been packed away since the move- this will get it out. I dunno if it's my voltmeter, But I couldn't get any real readings at T2, where the schematic says it should be a 60v 60kHz signal. I just thought that maybe someone might be able to drop a tidbit like, "The center tap of T2...

Summoning the electronics gurus: Helllllllllllp!

Subject: 1968 Fender tape echo. The erase head is super weak, as is the sound and performance in general. I figured I'd replace the power supply caps. Schematic here: http://www.schematicheaven.com/effects/fender_echochamber_fe1000.pdf We're working with the power supply, post T1 and rect bridge. If...

Wow. I honestly thought that whole time that they knew it was their set and that was their idea of a good show. Wow. Wowie wow. I'll never think I've had it bad as a sound guy again. What the heck did you say back to him at that point? . yeah, I'm kinda wondering how that whole conversation went do...

He's got your video posted on their myspace now. :D Holy Shit! Well, then. Maybe the entire thing was an extended length performance, and I was fooled. Maybe this was his plan all along. (Mmmmmmm... No.) However, I thought for sure the reaction was gonna be more of the same- angry yelling, or the t...

Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback- I consider all of you my peers, and your opinions are valuable. I thought about it some more yesterday, and I realized that the video is funny to me for the same reason that this (short) video is funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzG_oHDLZdc Reall...

Also if I thought something was so horrible I wouldn't waste a bunch of time narrating a youtube video about it. I will say this in all honesty- I have a weird sense of humor, bordering on shitty. I didn't think the episode was Horrible, I thought it was funny. perhaps that's cruel... I dunn...

I don't know.... if it was a band with legitimate buzz, or a touring band, and they brought in enough heads that the door money would pay me for the night and the promoter wasn't going in the hole to cover expenses, I'd have just gone to the bar during their set. But, if this is some local opener o...

So roboburger, i'm curious about your house manager's position in all this? i assume you're the stage manager, as well as FOH, thus you're reaction as well (video commentary withstanding)? I mean, i've mixed my fair share of avant performance, but this appears to be more of a highjacking of the sta...

I dunno how to make the lins appear, but if you click on the 'More from Roboburger' link on the page, you can see links to all four parts of the gig. When they were four minutes into their silence, the bartender walked over to the soundboard, where I was standing, hands at the controls, and smiling....

Man, where's Roboburger? Chris Garges Charlotte, NC Boo-Yah! I haven't had much time for the message boards lately- For some reason, I'm getting lots of requests for electronic repairs- Just recapped an Acoustic 140 head, and a Traynor tube head, and now I got a Roland Space Echo with a slippery be...

At let me be clear, I am not a tube connoisseur or craftsman. I am the equivalent of an oil-change guy relative to a mechanic. I can read a schematic, operate a volt ohm meter, and conceptualize what's happening. I really enjoy working with electronics and the hunt that takes place when fixing somet...
