what the...? MOLD!

so, last I posted, I was dealing with a flooded basement studio. after four days of pumping and three months of fans, the place is "kind of dry". I'm walling off a section and installing an air-conditioner to de-humidify it. 'til then I'm dealing with a MOLD EXPLOSION! I'm talkin' green-white-yellow...

thanks for the kind words fellows... yeah, insurance would have been a good idea. then again, my space is, like, below sea level and kind of illegal. as for the actual wet items: a small tube head (2 6v6s, one vol knob, type thing), an old soild-state bass head, and a rack mount analog spring reverb...

studio flooded...

hello all. after that massive rain storm last weekend, my recording space got about a foot of water over night. most stuff was up on shelves, but a few items got wet. I had a couple amp heads and a piece of rack gear totally submerged. I blew out all the moisture I could with compressed air, sprayed...

both pickups work properly and quietly when they are used individually. when two are used at once, only one channel gets the additional hum... currently, I'm going into two seperate grounded amps. I've yet to try going into an amp with two independent channels... what would cutting the shield at the...

stereo guitar...?

hey all. I'm wiring up some guitars in stereo and having some problems. both are two pickup guitars---each pickup gets it's own volume, no tone, and each goes to a mono jack (more versitile than a stereo jack, at least for now). now, they have to share ground from the same bridge, obviously...but, I...

walking on yer cables...

like most folks studios, mine has all types of cables and cords on the floor. now, what's the real deal with people stepping on 'em and the possibility for damage?

stepping on mic cables...bad?

like most people's studio floor, mine is covered in microphone and instrument cables. inevitably, they're getting stepped on.

...is this bad? a little or a lot?

...issues that aren't quite "general recording" questions? I feel like there have been a number of great questions posted that didn't really fit in our eight forums(maybe we need an INSTRUMENT TECH forum?): "why are my pickups make funny noises?", "what do you all think of this instrument manufactur...
