Re: New Pro Tools, who dis? "FREEZE"

It's nice. I use freeze pretty much how you described. Sometimes I find that certain plugins are cpu hogs and if I have that on a track, I will just "freeze" that track so that it's not consuming cpu cycles (from the plugins) so that my Aux busses can pig out themselves. Another thing is that now th...

I still keep expecting your first post to start out with "...but I play one on TV."

Re: Mixing with Hardware - Hybrid

I'm too lazy for mixing OTB. Or really, I'm just usually happy with what I can get ITB. I have OB hardware but most of that is for tracking and after that sometimes reamping (but I usually try plugins first). I only have one outboard EQ and it's actually really a preamp - a PM1000 channel - but I ha...

Re: I'm not a piano technician

I'm with you. I would need to see it too - or feel it, and watch it, or even disassemble it. I just learn better that way (vs. books - too bad I figured that out after school lol).

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

I did get the pack of RAB Audio ProJax 40 monitor isolators (8 to a pack). I ended up using only the base (the shortest option - < 1") and it seems to hold my Dynaudio BM6a mkii's just fine and again I notice there is no vibration transmitting through to the desk/racks they are sitting on anymore. T...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

all my runs are short so my patchbay is 1/4", FWIW, and the attenuators are in the patchbay I don't hear a whole lotta difference, as said so, on the side of those attenuators, it has where you stick the wires in (I'm calling the top, the part with the diagram and the screws to tighten the wires in...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

yep, those are the stand-straps I wanna note i kinda got larfed at when I mentioned the line attenuators I sometimes use: https://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=90819&p=727293&hilit=pad#p727293 I think nobody bothered to look at the specs on those. While it's true it claims to do -1 t...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

boring alert! I got a pack of those silicone rubber straps like VVV mentioned in another thread. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQL54FST
maybe not the exact same, but looks like they will fit guitar stands (haven't gotten a chance to actually try them yet). super cheap for a 10 pack.

Pedal harmonizers that work?

This is obviously more of a live-sound question, but anyone know of a harmonizer that actually works well for live vocals? probably pedal format, but just looking for options so whatever works (although probably needs to be under $300 or so?). I'm aware of a few. I know some will use the guitar sign...

you'll enjoy it. I got my 2nd AML 5003D in the rack and I'm glad to have it (but sad that I probably have to kick out something else - haven't completely decided which one yet)

Re: The bottom of the snare

I still like the Blues Junior (admittedly I'm not a real guitar player). Easy to transport and loud enough for most gigs. But I also like that Texas blues/Fender sound. Mine is a v2, and has some BillM mods (tone stack and power stiffening) as well as an Eminence Cannibis Rex. Everyone I know that h...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

So the eternal question here is whether you want your monitor rigidly attached to the Core of the Planet, or floating freely in space. Some people put their speakers on heavy stands with sharp spikes into the floor, while these products seem to promise to disconnect it as much as possible. The Mo-P...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

I didn't try to take the ISO-Puck Minis apart. Height was a consideration when I looked at some of the products. The ISO-Puck Minis were the lowest profile of the products that I looked at. yeah, I wouldn't expect you to. 8) I was more just curious what the material was - are they metal or a hard p...
