Reformatting a Mac drive for XP...HOW if XP can't see it???
Subject says it all! About a week ago one of my clients handed me a freshly wiped Lacie firewire drive that was Mac formatted so we could have all the 2" 24-track takes dumped into a DAW and walk away with files. We left the studio with 'em on my drive but I need to get 'em on HIS drive and my XP ma...

My DAW isn't connected to the net. Never was, never will be either. Not if I can help it! I don't even have any of the MS office stuff on there. Just SX3, Sound Forge & CD Architect with one or two other misc. apps. Lean & mean with two gigs of RAM...it's a workhorse! I've just seen too many strange...

But.... are there any computer cards/interfaces with TDIF connection? Any & all of the Motu 2408 interfaces have a full 24 channels of both Lightpipe and TDIF. I'm pretty sure that even the 2408MkI and MkII will pass 24-bit digital signals even though the AD converters are 16 bit on those. The conv...

FS~Kenwood car radio w/Sirius Satellite kit! Speakers! Cheap
Purchased new in 2004 and was in my old car for under a year, uninstalled in early 2005 when I leased a new Mazda 6 w/ a Bose system & built-in Sirius radio. There's low-milage on this rig...replace 'yer crappy stock system with something ASS-KICKING! For those of you who aren't hip to the satellite...

The bolt-on neck probably means its recent. Real Filtertrons (the pickups) are kool as fuck for some styles of music. They aren't really single colis & they're not humbuckers. Like a P 90 or a lipstick they've got their own vibe & you'll either love 'em or hate 'em. I'll go out on a limb and guess t...

Also, I found that in my room (small, well treated) the monitors were pretty fussy with placement. I think they really need to be on their own stands. I had mine on mopads, and when I switched to cheap, Samson stands, the sound completely opened up. I highly recommend using stands with these. I've ...

Ask him if he likes that snare sound...if it's "his thing" or what they expect it to sound like when it's all said & done. If the drum sounds like ass & they play you some clips of TOTALLY different sounding drums citing those sounds as the highwater mark, it's really easy to say something like, "We...
