I'm thinking of sending mine back to Matt to install transformers! If you note, Behringer left an optional spot on the PC board for this up-grade! Holy crap! You're right, I see it. That's pretty amazing. Thanks, this totally helps. Would you mind replying or PMing me with how much the mods cost fo...

Behringer "Mic 502"
In the interest of modding exploration, I bought a Behringer 'Pre-Q', model MIC 502 on ebay for $50. I'm not familiar with Behringer's history, but this one was made in Germany and is physically pretty substantial. I opened it up and Lo! there's a toroidal power transformer, an ssm2017p per channel ...

This is more about the DA7 than Ramsas in general, and I think maybe the DA7 had a very different design team and process than most of Ramsa's offerings. When our co-op studio split up, I bought the DA7. www.da7.com has been pretty helpful, albeit with a much clique-ier feel than this mesageboard. I...

If you're looking for thin, dark and washy, Paiste Traditionals are really incredible. I have an 18" thin crash that's very fast when hit hard, washes beautifully in a quiet context, and doesn't have much in the way of a fundamental. They're not cheap, of course. Zildjian A rides of the 60s and 70s ...

Re: Thought you'd want to check this out
There are only a few minutes left as I post this, but I'd advise against. That is, based on: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.audio.pro/browse_thread/thread/48854450a95037a4/22ce2d95423c76f2?q=fostex+812&_done=%2Fgroups%3Fq%3Dfostex+812%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#22ce2d95423c76f2 The oth...

Re: vertical futon = vocal booth
Just drill your futon for a mic cable and a headphone send and you're golden! 1. In our big (100x40x12) room we use a combination of 6' high cube panels and hollow-core doors covered with 703 and burlap. However, we're looking for something to give us a little more isolation without it being too per...

Re: Yamaha PM1000 Mic Pre/EQ Modules Racked
Hey Doug,
How do you have these racked? They're certainly longer than 17", so did you cut off the fader? The channel assign / pan? I'm curious and, while I'm not asking you to describe for what you did in any great detail, I'd like to know generally what choices you made.
(thank you)

Re: Looking for suggestions: workboxes / wall plates for XLR
EEESH! did you do that notching on those joists? you realize that totally has reduced the strength on that joist to a 2x5 right? if you can at least fill in the hole when you take out the pipes that'd help. Nope, that was the previous owner. We sistered 2x12s onto the joists to reinforce them after...

Looking for suggestions: workboxes / wall plates for XLR
Hiya. We're* in the final stages of renovating the big wrecked house we bought last December. I've pulled wire for most of the rooms where I want to record, and plan to put regular work boxes (like for household wiring) in the walls to terminate them and to use some sort of wall plate for the XLR-F ...

Re: $100 website for your band
OK, everybody should calm down a little. A slow-loading site isn't necessarily the designer's fault, since web designers are rarely responsible for web hosting. If the $100 site you're proposing looks like what you're offering, it isn't a bad deal. However, if this isn't your best work, why are you ...

I'm a little embarassed that I don't have anything other than the equivalent of glamour-shots boudoir-style promotional crap, but here goes regardless: http://www.supraphonic.info/photos/cheapgallery/ There are several photos of piles of crap, along with one photo of a drumset mic'ed with a pair of ...

I'd be shocked if you couldn't find what you need here for a reasonable price. I got 400' of Canare Star-Quad and 15 F and 15 M Neutrik panel-mount XLR connectors for $205 including shipping.

Supraphonic upcoming shows
OK, so it's a little chumpy to keep dumping hype on the messageboard, but... Supraphonic Recording in Columbus, OH has a Summer Concert Series: June 12th - Earwig ( www.lizardfamily.com ), the Renaissance Doves ( www.thevelvetnest.com/ ), w/ visual art by Tom Kelly and Kyle Kauffman July 23rd - Chri...
