Re: The Ultimate Remote Control

I have been using my notebook PC (Wireless) to remote desktop into my DAW. A while back I tried this with VNC but it had a few issues. I recently upgraded my DAW to XP so I thought I would give the remote desktop a try. This is awsome. I can take my laptop anywhere without any wires and its just li...

Buzz is horrible....crashes too much. It is however free. I would go with TobyBear's stuff. That guy writes some neat plugin interfaces and they sound great. His host is Donation Ware and it's limited to one plugin at time which might not work for you. You might also want to check Plogue Bidule. Hop...

Re: Ross Hogarth Interview

I truly appreciated the interview with Ross Hogarth. I'm a huge fan of Burne Hogarth's drawing techniques, and now I can understand why Ross is so talented himself. I would love to work with and learn more from Ross and a thousand other musicians / engineers featured in your magazine; TapeOp does a...

I kind of see what Soopie is saying. I watched Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on Connan and the singer sounded like Needleman & Smitty from Monsters Inc. This is a band that has gotten a lot of buzz and attention from David Byrne, Bowie, etc. I thought they were horrible! Seems to me like a lot of the rec...

It's basically Neil and co lipsyncing to the record.

Weak.
Disclaimer: I don't like Korn

I watched a Korn DVD where they played at CBGB's and they pulled the same stunt. It was incredibly boring.

Someone at Amazon said the DVD was dissapointing because they didn't use the live audio with the live footage. Can you go into a little more detail as to what you liked with the DVD?

I own a pair of SR-80's as well and love them. If you are interested in headphone amps, you can make one for next to nothing. Visit headwize.com and search for the Chu Moy or 'cmoy' headphone amp. I believe the Grado, like most other 'hi-fi' headphone amps, are based on inexpensive opamps. hope that...

Alesis SR-16 patch editors?

Sup all, Is there a FREE editor for this drum machine? If not, is there a way one could make one with the machine CC numbers and some sort of plugin creation software like SynthEdit? I'm new to MIDI and have two pieces of gear that could benefit from some MIDI programming. My other device is Digitec...

Advice for some basic studio stuff please

Hi All, Here's the stuff I need: -Patch cables for the PB-48 -Long XLR cable(s) -enclosed headphones for overdubing -headphone cable extension, 2x -Turntable cartridge and stylus for sampling but I'm not a DJ so NO SRATCHING is involved -MIDI cables I know this is all terribly mundane but I know the...
