Hi, Here's a response I had given to someone else who was looking to replace relays. Hope this helps you :) Relays, I wanted to replace all of mine so I thought I could get them from a place like Mouser and save some money. Thanks for your response ! I have adjusted mine to bring them to the c posistion and then I had to adjust the tension to compensate for repositioning the rollers. My machine is handling tape much better now. Thanks again for checking. Regards and Happy New Year, Dave

MS-16 Owners

Hi Everyone, If some of you ms16 owners out there could lend me a little assist I would greatly appreciate it. In the maintenance manual on page 7-11 (section 7-5-4. tape tension servo) The diagram shows four different positions (a, b, c and d) To me the "c" position appears to be straight up and do...

I like my 2600mkll as well. Purchased new around 97/98 I believe. The only problem I have had is occasionally the insert jacks get a little intermittant. A Caig treatment takes care of it.

RMGI 911 Shedding

Recently there has been a lot of posts on various recording forums in regard to RMGI tape with shedding problems. I thought my recent experience would be good info to pass along so here goes. Back in February I acquired a well used Tascam MS16 and after a lot of re-furb work (cleaning, replacing rel...

Just make sure you have cleaned everything in the tape path completly until no brown gunky stuff comes off on a clean q-tip. Things may look clean at first but just be really sure. It can take a while to get all that sticky shed off heads, guides, lifters and rollers. Also check your rubber parts (p...

In regard to the Jensen schematic, how does everyone isolate jacks from the chassis ? Are there insulated chassis mount jacks you can buy ? Just never saw one. Thanks :)

You can check http://www.njfactoryservice.com/index.cfm not sure if he only does Teac/Tascam but they do excellent work. I have had a couple of machines worked on there in the past and I was happy with the results. Good Luck !

very basic question

Hello, This is my first post on the forum. I have an analog based home studio. I started out recording myself and friends (haven't most of us) back in the 70's. Yeah I'm an old dude :) My setup is based around a Tascam MSR16 16 track analog deck and a Tascam M2600 mkii console. I have your typical o...

Thanks AG Curry and Jeremy for responding. Yes as always I'll let my ears be the guide once I hear the players :) As far as I know they will be playing as a group, I don't believe they plan any solos. The sax is a tenor so I will probably start off with my Senn md441 on that and see how it sounds. I...
