It's a new year which brings some new choices of equipment.. First up, EL7 Fatso Jr. (can get better detailed photos in the next day or two.) In great shape, only traveled with it a couple times. $1400 http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn20/moredelay/01d03959-9099-46b4-b1a9-2684d3ef04ae_zps28t6obyt...

DB25 to XLR I/O panel w/ EDAC Looms

I've got a brand new custom designed I/O panel built by Entertainment Metals. Built for the Antelope Orion, but useful for any DB25 interface or playback machine that has up to 32 channels in & out. (Apogee, Lynx, JoeCo, Mackie or Tascam HD recorders..) I only used the panel to test an Orion, looms ...

Haven't done a whole lot of overdubbing yet. Mostly live tracking. Though when I did use it, no one was really distracted/noticed any delay when using PT9 buffer at 256. Have yet to try it with drum overdubs, thats usually where people start to complain.. Edit: I'm waiting for a good easy MADI -> th...

Really love the way the Orion sounds. For what it's worth here is my experience with it. 1 - Great price for a ton of very good sounding converters! 2 - too bad theres no headphone output, but I bought one of those cheap DAC's on amazon with a headphone port I use for monitoring when in mobile recor...

Hi. Rule of thumb: Myth: A word clock will improve the audio quality of a single audio interface. Most of the time, it will not. I will now duck under my soapbox, as I am sure someone on here will say the exact opposite. Cheers I don't follow your logic on this one... Explain why a Yamaha LS9 or M7...

You can pick up an apogee PSX100 for pretty cheap these days. Goes up to 96k. 2ch In/Out, solid clock if you add other gear in the future. And most of all sounds pretty good. Though, i haven't used the A/D that much, but I can vouch for the D/A.

I found the Original MOTU Traveler to be super useful. 8 in/out,Goes up to 192khz, firewire, 4 pres w/ phantom.. And I found it one of the cheaper firewire interfaces that have AES EBU in/out for a cheap price.

Yeah, you get what you pay for..

Kommando that youtube clip you posted is nuts. Have you come across similar videos involving microphones into preamps?

I bought that 300ft GLS and so far no complaints. It's a little rubbery to the touch, and stretches. Using it for mic cables at a venue and no complaints, actually wraps up better than I thought it would. I'd say it's mid grade. Theres definitely worse cable out there, and also much better. My advic...

Hey Craig, was this my Aphex I sold you? I don't ever remember this happening ever when I owned it..

Does it happen with or without the tube essence engaged, or the side chain feature?
