It is a dual core MacMini, the middle version currently available, which is a 2.6Ghz i5.
I'm running PT12, so there is now no way to set the number of CPU's used by PTools, it is set automatically.
I will turn off BlueTooth, see if that helps....Thanks.

Thanks, I'm running sessions at 44.1k/24 bit. I find that if I have run any other software, when I restart my mac, I can just about run a simple session, or a complicated session if I freeze any tracks that have inserts. That is one workaround, but doesn't necessarily make me feel good about my rig....

New Mac Mini 2014 Low Buffer Rate Maxes CPU
New Mac Mini 2014 Low Buffer Rate Maxes CPU Recently bought a new Mac Mini (late 2014 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 w 16 GB RAM) to run PT 12 with Apollo 8, as I needed to upgrade from 2011 Mac Mini Server (mid 2011, 2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB RAM) running Digi 002. That old Mac couldn?t run the Apollo u...

Batch renaming tracks and audio files in PT
Hello, I'm mastering many different tracks for a project and some of the steps seem like they could be automated. Here's an example of what I get, the formats are not always consistent in regards to the underscore: Song_1 Song_2 Song3 Jazz_1 Rock_1 I drag all the songs to the PTools region list, the...

DVD-R's fail to read on my Mac after a while...
Hello. I am finding that DVD-R's (that is DVD minus Rs) that I have written are rejected by my computer, the same computer that has written them, sometimes immediately, sometimes it will read the DVD but weeks or months later will just get rejected -- meaning I insert the drive, the disc does not ge...

Simple, inexpensive software for beats for my neighbor kid
My 13 year old neighbor likes to rap with his friend. I showed him Garageband and he asked if there was a similar and good inexpensive program for the PC that he could buy...something easy to use. He would like something that has beats, but he can also hook up his microphone and rap or sing over his...

oyendigital hard drives, anyone tried them?
I've seen ads for Oyendigital hard drives in the back of TapeOp, they seem to have some good deals. They also have tiny USB drives, which would be great for transporting data. A search on the forum didn't come up with anything, has anyone tried them? What hard drives are people using these days? I'm ...

Like to move computer & drives to next room..cable lengt
Hello. I'm using a G5 tower to do music production. During the summer when the computer's fan gets going it gets a bit loud, and also the room gets a bit hot with the computer and the hard drives going. I would like to move the computer and hard drives into the next room. This would mean 20 foot cab...

Digi 002 Using Optical with DAT for ten inputs, are bits imp
I'm using a Digi 002 for PT7. Normally I don't need to record more than eight tracks at a time, but a project is coming up where I could use a few more. I have a DAT deck with an Optical out. I've cabled it up so that I can run a mixer into the analog ins of the DAT deck and run that signal digitall...

Can I run AutoTune with 1 iLok on 2 computers, one at a time
I'm working on a long term project with a client who wants to buy Auto Tune. We both have our own ProTools system.
Is it possible to buy Auto Tune and install/run it on two different computers, bringing the iLok to whichever system we want to work on that day?
Thanks

Reason Adapted vs Reason StandAlone, questions
I'm currently using ProTools with Reason Adapted. I'm going to be switching a current project to a computer that uses the regular stand alone version of Reason with ReWire, and I'm not sure what the difference is. Can you bring up Reason in a midi track just like you do in the Adapted version? How d...

Hmm, ok. Well, what is the correlation meter 'supposed' to do. Should I be checking for phase problems in my mix? Does anyone check for phase problems in their mixes? The only thing I check for is make sure that the Master Fader in ProTools doesn't go in the red when I'm mixing, and that's it. I gue...

Can someone explain these Bombfactory Essentials
ProTools comes with a set of Bombfactory Essential plugs, and these three I'm not really sure what it is exactly they do, and how I'm supposed to use them. I haven't found any good explanations online either. *Correlation Meter: Solve tracking and mix problems, and troubleshoot phase coherency with ...
