I like making quantized programmed beats on my roland sp 404 then dumping them into garageband. however, i also want to record bass lines directly into garageband.
can i quantize non-midi/real instrument tracks in garage band, ie. basslines played from an organ?

my allen and heath mod 3 has no master output. instead I use a stereo bus for the master outs. no bottom heads huh? not as much resonance then right?
any good articles out there explaining the taping method? were towels placed over the entire head of drums. would he do that to the rack and floor too?

i have 12 rackmounted scully 280A mic pres that I hit my tape machine with. I use a tascam 520 board for monitoring and mixing. It's okay but i'd like to find another board. I'd like to find one with no direct outs and that doesn't color the sound at all. i'll go new with this as I'm not looking for...

I love all the low end in the sound. Snares tend to be mixed very high.
I was thinking of switching my dynamics for close micing from 57's to EV PL20's. they have great low mid range.
