yes this will work.. I did it last week to my macbook.. ran out of space.. i cloned the drive (upgraded to a bigger faster drive) with a usb to sata/ide adapter cable ($19 at fryes) made extra partitions beforehand.. swapped it out.. good to go.. all my audio apps, plug ins, etc work like it never h...
