oh yeah, and as far as "back when he just wanted to be a rock star"? No way man - he wrote stuff that was designed to incite riot. Read "Helter Skelter" for his views on Revelation 9 and Revolution 9

Manson did several recordings over the years - the best one (in my opinion) is "All the Way Alive", out of print from People's Temple Records, which is just him and his guitar, singing short bursts of music and ranting in between to someone (might be Melcher - that seemed to ring a bell) about his g...

hmm...i've never really tried to catch as low as 20 Hz, or at least i haven't ever felt the need for that deep/big/long/whatever (insert beavis laugh here) a sound...but in my twelve by twenty space, which features ceilings that are over twenty feet (the secret to my lousy drum sounds), a large bass...

i may not have all the science down - if beard of bees thinks i don't know what i'm talking about, then i guess i probably don't. but when i mic up a beastly huge bass cab, my best sound (the sound that i like) is usually with an ldc 4-5 feet back, along with something like a shitty kick mic right u...

what kind of room will you be recording in? those big huge live bass sounds need room to develop, i.e. room mics in a well balanced room, and sometimes they still just don't sound as good as some little 10 watt amp

i hope you don't mean that's what he sent to tape?

who says harsh can't be a good thing? love those tones on "Entertainment!", even though they came out of a craptacular solid state...then again, i guess sometimes guitar tone is like boobies - great when covered in wool
