so far I've tested alongside the Manley DVC, Blue Robbie, GT brick, Roland VS, older Joemeek, M-audio Tampa, and RNP . The difficluty in my situation is I do this for a living, only on my own projects do I have more time to play around..and then rarely do. So, my method is sometimes guessing what wi...

I don't think CharlesM is the one saying he has the unit, just making a point about presenting an opinion without ever having heard it. Perhaps when I complete some songs I'll post some finished mixes. I don't know how helpful that might be in being able to measure the impact of the Meek, other than...

i also like the feedback these are getting, especially the oneQ...but i really wish they saved the money they spend on the comp and eq and whatnot and invest it all on making the pre better in whatever aspect possible..i bet it would be an even better pre for the price, if it's as good as people sa...

How do the pres compare to others you've used? Are they clean? Colored? Detailed? Thanks, Chuck It can do both clean and color. The "iron" switch puts a transformer on the input for some nice color. With the switch out it's a very clean, burr brown equipped input. It has vibe. The tracks hold up we...

2 weeks with the Meek twinQ

..and I'm really liking this box. Especially the sound of it. With "Iron" switch it has lots of character; tracks sit well and hold up well over the course of the project. On the clean setting it's more straight-wire. At first I had a little difficulty setting the compressor, it's a little touchy, e...

Nice sarcasm Votemiles, I can appreciate that. I know one guy on this thread. Had lunch with him once for an hour two years ago. As far as finger pointing, you're not referring to me. Read again. I've made many comments and attempts to steer this back to the topic of recording. This is tiring, proba...

I dunno. All this "brotherhood of musicians" (for Chrissake) and "artists don't insult other artists" stuff just don't wash. If you have enough conviction in your art, you could give a rats ass what anyone else has to say about it. If you can't take criticism, don't create. sure, freedom of speech ...

When you put something out there and let it run free (your song, for example) you are exposing yourself to scrutiny and criticism. Deal with it somehow (besides saying that you don't think it's valid to criticize a finished work). You must enjoy the attention or you wouldn't keep coming back here f...

Now I'm patronizing, wow. OK, Maybe I should have posted that I don't understand your music Ubertar, I'm not qualified to comment on your song. I'm not familiar with that style at all. It doesn't press my buttons. So what. At least I can stop short of saying it just sucks. What I referred to in "und...

Ubertar, I apologize for leaving it infinished. I meant generally speaking not specifically you. There was no smoke and mirrors by me not posting an opinion of the song I listened to, other than I could tell where you're coming from musically and where you are engineering wise. I won't claim to know...

I don't make comment of people's finished projects. If someone were to ask my honest opinion on a work in progress, I'd inquire as to what hat I was supposed to wear in my critique: writer, player, recordist, producer, graphic artist, etc. But I can sure weigh your opinion on songwrtiting, recording...

Thanks for the comments. I'm listening to "Sun beneath the sea" on your artist website right now for reference. I can see where you're coming from based on this song.

well, the original post happened at Vsplanet where I have a history of a few thousand helpful posts. This post was spread around to 5 or 6 other recording forums thanks to Dan(Dot). They pretty much all stayed with the spirit of the experiment, with something like 5000 hits and over 1500 downloads o...
