For creep factor no one can beat "Spinal Meningitis", complete with dying kid voice and all.

Ebay DISASTER. Anyone else????
I bought a Furman IT-1220 on ebay for $800. I plugged it in and waited, and waited, and waited. The damn thing is busted, complete with loose parts jangling around inside of it. I filed a claim with paypal who supposedly pays up to $1,000 insurance on ebay purchases paid for with paypal. We shall se...

neil young silver and gold
On Neil Young's song "Good To See You" off of Silver & Gold there is a bad computer edit. I don't know if it's from a bad punch in or what. It happens during an acoustic guitar solo near the end. It's always bothered me when I listen to that album though. Great album by the way. One of his best. Jer...

Bass guitar through a guitar amp: What can and can't you do?
I've read some posts about people recording bass through a guitar amp. What are some of your favorite guitar amps to do it through? small or big amps? Will it damage the speaker? How do you know if it will damage something before you actually damage it? Jeremy P.S. The bass player in our band uses a...

Smoke Free Environment- Does it matter?
It seems that every item ever sold on ebay is from a smoke free studio. First off, I suspect that not all of those studios are smoke free. How many of you have worked in very smokey studios? Also, does the smoke really do that much damage to the equipment?
just curious,

Took the plunge
I went ahead and bought a skylark 5T on ebay. We'll see how it is. I paid $280 with s/h. Does anyone know what these usually go for?

What's your FAVORITE small amp
I searched the board and didn't find a discussion on small amps. I'm currently looking to buy something that will fit nicely underneath my fender rhodes 73. I'd like some opinions on good small tube amps, mainly for guitar. I want to get a sweet tone without blowing out my eardrums. Jeremy P.S. I th...

portico 5042 tape emulation review?
Larry,
I've had trouble finding much info online about the portico 5042. I've searched this messageboard as well as others. Are you guys planning a review of it any time soon. I value your guys' opinion.
Thanks,
Jeremy

if you could only get one
Which would more crucial to have in a home studio, the IT1220 or the ar1220. I can't say that I exactly understand the difference between a line conditioner, voltage regulator and balanced power unit. Can someone clarify each term and its respective purpose?

what POWER AMPS are better than others and why?
My last post was about running a Soundcraft Spirit M12 with a power amp. I've determined that I could use one, so are different power amps better than others? Are some too powerful or weak? I know nothing about them. Please help.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Does Soundcraft spirit need a power amp?
This is probably a dumb question, but I don't know the answer to it. I bought a soundcraft spirit m12. It appears to work, but I can only get sound out of it when I plug it into my amp. Do I need a power amp in order to record using my spirit. If so what is a good brand to buy for my home recording ...
