Just recently picked up an old Harmony Rocket archtop. I was told that stuffing the top f-hole with foam can subdue unwanted feedback at louder levels.
Can anyone reccomend what type of foam and where this might be available, or is there a better suggestion?
Thanks!

Tony, this is the exact program I am looking into. Do you or anyone you know have experience there? Glad to keep hearing affirmations that Columbia is a good choice!drumsound wrote:Columbia College in Chicago has an audio atrs and acoustics program.

Here are two sites you may want to check out: www.ncac.com That's the website for the National Council of Acoustical Consultants. The site provides links to acoustical consultants in every state. You could probably then contact somebody in your area to ask specific questions to. http://www.hartford...

I am currently looking into audio schools, and I was wondering if anybody here has specialization in acoustics. How is the job market compared to recording engineers? Is an acoustic engineer more likely to get a regular paying job with a company, or is it the same story as with recording engineers? ...

Wow. These are all overwhelmingly helpful replies! Thank you much. I only have experience recording in my home, and a handful of studios with engineers when I played in some bands. I am very much into the baby steps of looking into this, but I feel it's the right decision for me. So far I've looked ...

Wow. Thank you all for your comments. I'll have to take her to try some out. I think she wants a new one, which I was told has a push/pull switch on the tone knob that takes it from "that old sound" to something more like a Pbass...I guess. That is how a salesman described it...although I'll have to...

Anyone have any experience with these? My girlfriend wants one and I'm trying to get feedback from those who've played them.

What I am wondering now is should I take mr. guitar center's advice and purchase a MOTU 828MK2 interface, or is there a comparable interface I am unaware of? Also, would it deplete the sound of the original tape if I were to carry out the aforementioned process with a multi-track digital recorder wi...

"A better idea; you could mix the 4 tracks in the computer back down to a track of the analog deck, do a three overdubs, and the bounce those four tracks back into the computer. Unless the deck's motor/transport is really unstable, you could then line up the tracks in the computer, using the bounced...

Please excuse my ignorance in the matter, but I came across a Teac A-334OS 4-track reel to reel and I am wondering if anybody knows what would be needed in order to transfer all 4 tracks to a mixing program. Also, I am trying to find out if it's possible to synch up an additional 4 tracks to the fir...
