The Beatles absolutely have EMI by the by the short and curlies. While technically EMI may own the recordings the Beatles are in complete control.

Trying to give Bill Skibbe my money

Does anyone know if Bill is still doing the Red Stripe thing?

I?m keen to buy one but my emails to him remain unanswered.

Otherwise anyone know of any that are going secondhand???

This is really excellent. My only slight criticism would be that for me the vocal could have a little more depth in places. The ?You make me feel? line doesn?t quite go to the place it wants to. Sounds a little one dimensional, like it is asking for a really subtle harmony underneath to break it up ...

It?s a good song with a solid, simple arrangement and structure. You kinda have to go out of your way to mess a mix up if you have those fundamentals in place

The execution of the key part at the end is a little too off for me. Idea is good, just need to nail the take a bit better for me.

Agree with what has been said. I?m a PC guy but I wouldn?t recommend you change. Stick with what you are comfortable with and what you know. Why go through all the shit of starting from scratch again? Don?t swallow the marketing and/or fanboi BS. They are just big calculators with different brand na...

Classic mistake you see all the time...People decide they want to sound ?old school?. So they spend the bomb on vintage gear, then they spend a bomb on a studio packed with vintage gear. Then they thrash the crap out of each track, dropping in and dropping in until the finished recording is seamless...

Nah...not even in the same ballpark as Strawberry fields (0:59).

Personally I?d make the ?and I know what you?ll say...? bit more driving (it?s probably just the feel of the guitar) to really break up the dynamic of the song. I think if you make that bit straighter the contrast will make the bit after it sound way more twisted.

The song is totally cool.

Had a listen to ?Hopeless? The drums sound like a drum machine, very flat sounding, one intensity all the way through. That?s not a bad thing in itself, The Strokes have made a career out of it. But the drums and bass aren?t sonically connected, sounds like they are in two different places. And the ...

I?m talking about the dynamics of the song not the dynamics of the instrumentation. It?s not about loud and quiet it?s about melodies and phrasing and chord colours. It doesn?t have to bash you over the head. Really good songwriters (Like the Teenage Fanclub guys) can use subtle changes to give a si...

Had a listen to ?Willing to bet?. It just didn?t have enough dynamics for me. Kept on wanting the song to take a breath that never seemed to come. In isolation the individual song parts seem pretty strong melodically, but put together I didn?t think they really went anywhere. They sound more like va...

I really, really like the ?raggedness? of the performances. They help give the song it?s edginess and personality. It?s the sonic treatments I was talking about. It?s almost like the separation of the instruments is too good, they are bit too clean, clear and distinct. In contrast to the performance...
