Concerning the 2500 - Has anyone used it much for tracking? Or more specifically, have you used it for tracking then again on the 2-buss or mix-buss with the same material? If I get this unit that's likely what will happen: a lot of tracking with the comp (usually with a lighter touch) on OH's/ gui...

FS/T - Universal Audio 710 Twin-finity Mic Preamp/DI - Like
I've got a barely used UA 710 Mic preamp/DI that I've recently gotten that I'm not going to have use for around here. It's in perfect shape as it's been in use less than 4 hours since it came out of the box. I'd like to just move it along to a home where it will be loved. Please let me know if you h...

Yesterday I found a great older Atlas stand with weighted boom at a Pawn shop for $40. It tightens up like a vice and can eat these GC stands for lunch. It's solid I actually tossed my Peluso 2247LE on there and now I can finally have it on something low profile so it can get into tighter places. Ni...

Snagged an EV PL-20 off CL for $100. Sounds like it needs new foam (rattle rattle), so EV's sending that and a mic clip out for $25. As-is it sounds great. More proximity effect than my SM7. Big and sexy sounding. I've been jonesing for one ever since I saw Thom Yorke eating one in the "Live from th...

Late submission. I did a cover of Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" for a local comp, APDXMAS 2010. http://soundcloud.com/son-and-elder/wonderful-christmastime It came out alright. I only had a 6-7 days to do it and I had a cold, so the vocal was rough to nail down, but I did my best under ...

Congrats on your new amp. I'm glad you got it to a tech. Installing caps isn't something someone without a multimeter, good soldering skills and a very clear understanding of how to discharge caps should be undertaking. Anyhow, I just recently acquired a 64 B-15N and geeked out quite a bit on it. Th...

I thought this might be of interest in this thread. I had a head cab made for my little akai. At the moment I'm just using it as an amp, but I love it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b149/infiniteposse/Akai%20tube%20amplifier/Akaiamphead2.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b149/infiniteposse/A...

Just scored a USA Fender Bullet H2 at a local Pawnshop. It wasn't a steal, but it's a really cool little guitar and feels really solid. Needs a new nut and a decent setup and then it should be golden. Beautiful red, too:) http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b149/infiniteposse/Fender%20Bullet%20H2/82Fe...

I don't disagree Larry. I'm just saying that sometimes what I've handed off isn't the stuff of masters, ie: 16 bit bounce, not a lot of headroom for mastering, etc... Perhaps it's totally besides the point if the client likes it, but I guess I'm striving for a certain level of quality and finding ou...

Post by joelpatterson on GS that I found helpful/validating: ------------------------------------------------ A very common problem. The harsh reality (in my world) is that it takes a DURN sophisticated band member to be able to distinguish any of this-- to be able to gauge the "roughness" of the ro...

Thanks for the responses guys. To kind of address the points that have been raised so far... Perhaps it's just the process of the way these particular records are being made and the time-span over which they're tracked and mixed (ie - not in 1 week and then mix and then done), but not offering refs ...
