Picked up a Stanley tool chest on sale for $99 for storage of mics and miscelenia. http://i.pgcdn.com/pi/85/27/67/852767277_125.jpg Got some foam padding cut out for the drawers and filled it up with stuff last night. Really love having a solid and secure place to put my mics in to keep them safe. ...

Summit Audio FeQ-50 + SRK-100 Rackmount

Hi Folks, I'm selling my FeQ-50 along with the SRK-100 rackmount. The EQ is in perfect shape, both functionally and cosmetically. It includes the original manufacturer's box, manual, inserts, and power cord. The rackmount is also in great shape. No scratches, and includes the instructions and mounti...

What Jon (Shinybox) didn't mention is that he uses a different ribbon in the mxl46 that better matches with the Lundy transformer.

When I had the newer ribbon put in mine I could definitely hear a difference.

Very nice microphones (the mxl)!

Regarding the Warfedales -- I owned them, and wouldn't recommend.

Your best value is going to be in a good pair of used, passive monitors along with a good, used amp.

I still don't understand this trend towards putting active electronics inside of vibrating boxes. :?:

I used an mc930 on vocals, and it sounded surprisingly good.

However, the performance wasn't great and I we wound up using another mic (I think it was an LDC) on the keeper track.

I wouldn't hesitate to put it back on the right singer, though.

"These are not upgraded Legacy Boxes. They are honest 2d Expanded"

Just for posterity, all 2d Expanded boxes are "honest". There is no physical/electronic difference between a legacy box with the 2d upgrade, and a newly minted 2d box.

Glad I could help.

..and just for anyone who happens to read this, the "fix" works for scrolling in either direction (vertical or horizontal).

I also use mighty mouse (wired). I have gone through one so far. The first one stopped vertical scrolling. As soon as I switched from the logitech to the mighty mouse I noticed a lot more air and openess in the mix. I heard that Dre is designing a new mouse called the "bass thumper mouse" to be rel...

You're right, that IS crazy. You know...I'm really bad with names....really bad.

I would probably recognize a half dozen of their tunes if they came on the juke-box.

What album would you suggest I buy?

Thanks!

Oh yeah. The Sneakers, too, even though they only put out the one EP and played like seven shows in their 30-year history. The dBs were a really big deal in the south. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC That's strange. I spent most my life in GA, but I've got no recollection of The dBs. I guess I wasn't pa...
