Pro Tools hands down is the easiest to transition from an out of the box situation. Its very intuitive and laid out like a real mixer. People will argue for Logic and Nuendo, and maybe if you're using your daw as an instrument (lots of midi, synthy tweak head stuff), they'd have a point, but for st...

Toronto friends for gear rental
Hi
I'm in the middle of 2 records that have been moved to my apartment for finishing. I need access to some gear. Anybody in this fair city have mics they could rent out for a month?
I'm aware various retail locations offer gear for rent, but I thought i'd try the community first

The best way to speed up a song recorded a bit too slow
The song is in its tracking phase still, but there are concerns that it my be a bit sluggish. I'm using PT 7.3. Is there a tried and true method/plugin to speed up a song with no artifacts?

Your image isn't working but I'm sure your right. It's just like me to have a workaround for something that the program already does on it's own. I think I fixed the images... And as I did, it occurred to me that maybe LE has fewer options in the Import Session Data dialog than HD does.. But I dunn...

Why is this so troubling to me? autotune at it's best.worst?
I really don't know what to make of this, i know this use of auto-tune is nothing new, but something about it. Maybe i don't watch enough Much Music/MTV and need to be desensitized ...Thoughts? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2MCwbOZkBA Maybe it's just the narrators voice. http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Advice on mixing work flow shortcuts within protools.
Hi, sorry for the convoluted title. I'm experimenting with some different mixing work flow for mixing quickly for bands with minimal budgets, and I would like your input. This corresponds to a group of songs all recorded over a couple days, same mics, amps, drums, sounds, etc. I begin to mix a few o...

on a interesting side note: i was chatting with a friend about RADAR the other day and one of my theories on why the converters sound so great is that the metering on the unit is set to be lower than you think. i did a project where we tracked beds to radar and then exported the wavs to work on fur...

For the life of me I can't get a good tone out any of the available amp modeler's. I only own the Hardware POD pro, but I've used all the mentioned ones. Is there a trick, secret di box? I can get useful lead tones but nothing like a good solid "album defining" rhythm track what are some of the reco...
