Re: My oldest client has betrayed me by trying to record at
Trevor's post have stated the strong consumer position. he desires the conveinience store recording studio. That by it's nature is not a quaility driven business. It values customer conveinience over everything else He may well be right that this market is ripe for someone to come in and cater to it...

Re: My oldest client has betrayed me by trying to record at

Re: Avenson Audio STO-2 Matched Mics
I bought a pair of Brad's mics and love them. I use them constantly as room/ambient mics. I've bought too many mics over the years and in terms of cost vs usefulness, the Avenson's are matched only by Shure 57's and SM-7's. These really are great mics for cheap money Stuart Sullivan wirerecording.com

I do not like mixing on them, but do most of my personal listening on them with my ipod. comfortable, good sounding, ...

Re: Names NOT to Use for Your STUDIO
There was a placed in Austin TX named the Hit Shack. It was a good studio, but people seemed to always move the "S" in Shack to the first word.

Re: Bonnie Raitt vocal mic
I assisted on a couple of tracks for Nick of Time, and Ed Cherny used an RE-20, said that's what she uses (well at least on that session)
