Re: class A
look out for pre-amps that say class-A (like under a $1000)) all they, use is a class-A buffer stage, but not true class-A oh and you can have a circuit that uses two transistors (one for the high and one for the low part of the wave) that is class-A. And I think class AB (in tube amps) run in class...

Re: api geeks, I need you!
as far as selling the ssl for a api, we need to work right now. this console has been good for us (60,000,000 copies sold of this desk) but I might trade our 4000 for a old api with graphics, those look cool and i,m a big fan of the 2025's but i'll try moving the supply, and we are getting the 550a'...

Re: Walter Sear makes me cry
walter is 100% right, why is the standard of audio going down instead of up like mpee3's and major labels putting out crappy sounding records that were done on 001's and adat's and others shity sounding gear instead of paying for it to be done right at a real studio. don't get me wrong we own a 001 ...

Re: A question for Jeff
what if the band sounds like melt banana, and jeff listens to wham? I'm shure jeff could help a lot of people, especially if the band whants to "make it" and jeff works in the mtv world of high profit music, but hell maybe jeff know's what everybody wants to hear, and what every band wants to sound ...

Re: Ever go to a "big studio" and...
so did the guy fix the stuff for free, if not you need to get down there and get it fixed, if it has allready been pressed then you need to get your money back, if 3 songs were messed up- divide the total amount paid by the number of songs on the record- lets say 5 song were tracked and mixed for $5...

Re: Question for Distressor owners
it should work, but what the last cat said was right, you might have the ins and out backwards. some consoles use the tip as a send some use the ring, if none of this works plug the output of what ever device your using into the comp and the output of the comp into the mixer or whatever your using. ...

Re: Some good albums using Shure sm57's and 58's on vocals
with a 57 or 58 its all about the pre-amp, I think you could do a whole
record with 57's and maybe a couple good condenser's for overheads
and acoustic stuff.

Re: L2 Limiter addiction
the L2 works good to pump up crappy 4-track stuff and speech but I would not use it on a real project. it brings up low level crap and if you work in the digital domain you could be making 8-bit audio as loud as everything else in the mix, and this makes people want to take out the cd and put in som...

Re: MS tracking
