Setting up powered monitors and passive monitors

This kind of stuff is confusing to me, and I know I should understand it, but here goes... I have an Apogee Ensemble that I currently run into a stereo tuner which powers 2 sets of speakers, NS10's and other Yamahas. I just got a pair of Adam A7 powered Monitors. How can I hook them up and also be a...

Thanks for your help. I'd like to try these out with mixes I know well. So far, I'm leaning towards the ADAM A7's on a hunch. I haven't liked any KRK's I've heard. I always thought there was something synthetic sounding about them.

Any more suggestions?

A good complement to the NS10's?

Can someone recommend a good set of monitors for the bassier side of the mix? I usually switch between the NS10's and my bassier speakers, but the bassier ones are in need of replacement. Anything under 700 USD is good. Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks guys. Yea, Manley's are more expensive and I was told nothing special (cheap chinese made). I was also told that the bulk of the sound of that mic is from it's electronics. Does that sound reasonable?

Peluso or Beezneez capsule?

Hello, I unfortunately have to replace the capsule in my Langevin cr3a mic (the black version) I really love the way it sounded so I'm looking to replace it with something equal to or better than what was originally there. It had a very smooth high end, so I want to be sure to keep that quality abou...

I'm not so sure about the computer power, you might be right about it not using the dual processor. I had a g4 and mix plus system for years, until recently, and I found it was all about the farm cards, unless you want to run a lot of rtas plugins, but the mix plus uses tdm's which don't tax the com...

Advice on a Firewire interface for Macbook running PT 9

I'm trying to put together a simple mobile studio for a Macbook running PT 9. All I need is 2 - 4 tracks of simultaneous ins. I'll be using the preamps I already own. In my studio I'm running a PT Mix plus system clocking with an Aardvark Sync. I'd like something that comes close to that quality. Th...

Thanks for your help! Glad my instinct was right. I left plenty of space on each end so they should be able to do whatever they need. I am curious if there's a standard to this process, but this worked...

Audio for a live DVD - How to coordinate with the video edit

Hello, I'm mixing a live show for a band that's releasing a live DVD. I have all the unedited raw audio tracks with space between songs and all banter etc... The video for the DVD has already been edited. My question is how do we get the audio to match with the visual edits. How is this normally don...
