you guys are totally right. Professionalism also has to do with confidence. I'm totally confident in my abilities, but I sometimes worry when a new client is coming that they may expect a lavish studio space. You think I should warn them when booking? I don't because it feels like a disclaimer. I tr...

Maybe I'll impress them AND scare them by saying i have a partner that is standing right next to me. If i can keep a straight face while telling clients it's HIS policy to charge for an extra cd they might be just freaked out enough to pony up for it. Seriously though, It's tricky because I'm workin...

That is something to think about for sure. As my work hopefully attains more notoriety I'll feel justified. Maybe I'm selling myself short, and perhaps that is what bothered me most about the interaction. It wasn't the money, just the principle. I would never nickel and dime a plumber with known rat...

Milkhouse has very good advice, and I do believe what you say is true. The one obstacle I have with charging more is that my studio is in my house, so I can't offer the full-on studio experience. The music sounds great, but it is still 'in some guys house'. Can I rightfully charge as much as a full ...

Thanks Chris. They're coming back for overdubs on monday, so I'll have to be a bit tougher and more business-like. I've gotten soft since working with friends the past few weeks! Thanks Roy, that's probably the least expensive tuition ever. I'll take it! Dynomike, A block rate (not hourly) is a good...

Just had a client lowball me over a half hours time. He seemed to think he was pretty slick since I was still bouncing down the 3 last of his bands tunes while he offered up payment for the time up until then. I let it go, but now I feel kinda cheap. Especially since I just realized they took a few ...

Looking for samplers for Pro Tool 5.1 Mix Plus system
Samplers like Battery 1.0 for PT 5.1 Mix Plus system
I saw one that just sold on eBay, but I missed it...
I'm looking for something good for sampled drums and one that I could load sounds into.
Thanks!

That is definitely strange. I'm no expert yet, but are you sure the TDM system is using the right mix buss? There's something about this i read somewhere. Maybe make sure in your plugins folder there is a 24 bit mix plugin. I could be wrong, but I think it's always using this to sum up all the track...

This thread came up on my search. I just got my Mix Plus system running after using the 001 on countless sessions. I'm finding the opposite so far. my mixes sound way better than they did from the LE, I'm getting way more plugin power and am able to use plugins I couldn't even open before I went TDM...
