A little remix of something you have never heard.

This is a song Joe and I are working on, we had the drums tracked (read programed) and I laid down the bass today, so while I was recording I decided to add my own guitar, mind you this is a shortened version of a song that we have yet to record guitar or vocals for, but I wanted to see what you fol...

Re: Please critique my rough mix.

Wow!!! This is straight up my ally, the only real beef I have is that the vocals are a little upfront for my taste, maybe a little reverb and burry them a bit, other than that, wow, I love it.

Re: g-string phase problems

The guy who sold me the bass had noticed it also and took it to a tech to set it up. There have been several new sets of strings on there and that makes no difference either, It is barely noticeable when playing pluged in and frankly i cant hear it at all once the drums start. as an aside, does anyo...

Re: g-string phase problems

The bass has an old brass nut, which is probably very worn, and what looks like a soap bar pickup, although even with the bass unpluged you can hear the phasing.

g-string phase problems

Howdy tape oppers, long time no post. So, here it is, I have a 74 tele bass (sweet huh?): although as sweet as it is, when I play my g-string past the fifth fret (especially audible around the twelfth fret) there is an almost phasing sound. What the hell is that? Recorded or not, if I hold a note on...

Pre-amp?

O.k. so here is the question; I have a P.C. running cool edit with an ST Audio DSP 24 card (8 in-8 out). The problem is that only channel 1 & 2 have a pre-amp (by pre-amp I mean nothing more than a mic/line pot). The problem is all of my levels are very low on vocal tracks, room mics, and the like. ...

Re: Anyone using convolution reverbs?

I am trying to use Cool Edit's convolution but I can not figure out how to record and import my own rooms. The manual is not very clear, it seems like I should record a sound in a room (like a snap or a click) convert it to an imp file, then record another sound at a different spot in the room or an...

Re: The Mix our Song Contest

Is there going to be some way to hear everyone's mixes? I'd really like to hear my finished mix compared to others' so I can maybe pick up a trick or two, or just to see where other people took it. I hope I will be able to get everyone's file on my ftp (assuming it's up by then) But the top three w...
