Hello: Thanks for your reply. I contacted Tascam because I needed two of those green color caps on top of the Aux knobs, aparently they were missing when the seller had the board (I just bought the 512 on Ebay and it arrived yesterday), but luckily Tascam still stocks them, only 68 cents ea. I asked...

Tascam 512 Mixer Question

I just obtained a 512 board that appears to be in excellent condition, but I was wondering about the power supply for it. Rather, I dont see one that came with it. The board just has a regular ac line cord. Yet, I have heard of a power supply that was made by Tascam, so I am trying to determine if t...

Yes, its the lights on the meters, the first two, 1 & 2. I thought maybe its a real pain to replace, being that Ive seen Recorders for sale on Ebay which were professionally serviced/calibrated, yet the lights were out on the VU Meters, which led me to think it must be a real ordeal to replace if ev...

* Tascam 520 Mixer Question *

I have an opportunity to buy one thats for sale, however, two meter lights are out. I would prefer to have all the meters lit-up. I was wondering if anyone could be so kind as to let me know what type of bulb is used, and how easy or difficult it is to access the bulb in order to replace it. Thanks,...

I dont see how an A-3440 would be considered an "antique" compared to a 34. I believe they are only about 2 or 3 years apart in the time span that each model was introduced by the company. Ive heard it said that the 3440 is the better built machine, and I also think it looks nicer than the 34. 3440'...

I live in Queens and I'm definitely interested in hanging out, but I work a 2nd part-time job at school on Tuesday evenings so I cant make 5/9. But the Spring semester is almost over, so if there's another gathering again on a Tuesday in the near future, I'm pretty sure I can attend. Otherise, any o...

I have an M308 which I had bought several years ago, (to be used with my Tascam 48 Recorder), but I never had the chance to use it that much. I am in the process of rearranging all my hi fi equipment in my basement, and I'm hoping to get my 308 up & running soon. (I also have a Teac A-3440 along wit...

Hey, its great to see there are other 'Baja Sessions' enthusiasts out there. From the very first time I heard that cd, I always thought the songs were outstanding and the recording quality excellent.

Well, if that rain-drenched Sansui was built in the 1970's, I am quite sure it was built like a tank (as most hi fi equipment was back then). It was in the 80's that alot of stereo manufacturers tried to cut down on costs, and its very apparent how the construction quality became compromised by the ...

Mark:

When it comes to speakers, Sansui is so-so. Some people really like them and others arent that keen on 'em.

Gerry: Do you have the MB-20 meter bridge? Once you get used to seeing the MB-20 with the mixer, its looks sortve weird when you see Model 2's without them.

Interesting comments I'm reading by everyone who has contibuted so far. I am considering to have my entire basment remodeled and I want to make sure that whatever is done, the final result will be that the room acoustics are good for audiophile music listening with my hi fi system, and I can also ma...

well, well, what do we have here, a Sansui turntable, very cool. I still have the 1st turntable I bought new back in '79, a Technics SL-D2. Another TT that was really cool and certainly ahead of its time was the Accutrac 4000. How was the TSR-8 you had? I think that was the last eight track model th...
