yea that'd essentially be the same thing. i'm just sorry about weird impedence stuff and loading. also running speaker level signal though those components which are intended for hi z instr level... what do people do when they have 5 guitar heads in the control room and a cab in an iso room or live ...

i'm not really worried about any explosions... more concerned w/ any impedence or capacitance issues especially w/ frequency loss @ the upper or lower extremes. obviously i'm looking to spend as little $ as possible. if that was not an issue i'd just go get another ADIG... but i'd like to develop so...

Speaker level through 1/4th Patch Bay
Hey, I just got myself another head and have a question about interfacing. I'm using a Palmer ADIG PGA04 as a loadbox and speaker simulator. I now have a mesa single rectifier and a mesa nomad 55 (along w/ a fender deluxe reverb, but that isnt getting connected to the ADIG). I'd like a way to be abl...

These things are great. I'd love to have one as well. Definitely a warm tube sound. Great on bass and the DI is nice as well. You've just got to watch out for saturation.. although i've never used a newer one. It does have a dark-ish sound, and is pretty colored. I haven't had great results with it ...

virtual VU meters add some nice analog-style warmth. they also slightly scoop the lower mids and add a touch of high end sparkle. correlation could be nice over the mix bus to check for phase issues while tracking... bomb factory went under and was picked up by digidesign- so the more plugins the di...

1- I can't change the tempo after the fact because the issue is the speed and phrasing of the vocals and guitar parts... 2- If I fire the singer, he fires me... I think I'd rather spend tons of time in my apt. working on the appropriate edits than dragging everyone and everything to the studio again...

Why aren't mastering loudspeakers used for mixing?
So why don't mix engineers use the top quality speakers and nearfields that mastering engineers typically use? Wouldn't it make sense to have the best reference possible when doing and mix or tracking? I understand that price may be an issue, but instead of buying that 12th compressor and a pair of ...

Slowing down drums with varying tempo
Hey guys- Here?s an issue that I?m hoping you can help me out with. I?m working on an EP for a group and my approach has been to let the band play live, only keep the drum takes, and build a tempo map in PT for a click for overdubs and all time based effects. After that we overdub everything taking ...

well i've had the chance to mess around w/ different combos now for a bit and i'm completely happy w/ the apogee upgrade. the clock helped, but the real difference was in the A/D/A conversion. my current project is @ 96k and i tried tracking E gtrs through all different combinations and the digi pre...

well the tab is just to nail the transient-- that way you won't flam if you drop in loops or delays etc. for some types of music it isn't soo necessary, although if i'm going to take the time to do it, i'm going to do it right. you might have to drop in markers approximately at first, but you'll soo...

well since im using half normalled neutrik patchbays i can pass the signal from the top level (my source) to the bottom level (let's say input 2 on the 002r) and then patch that same source to the tascam for monitoring. then mute the record enabled track in PT and just send the rest of the mix out o...

use the gtr as the guide. identify beat (apple I) and tab to transient. there is going to be a lot of tweaking. do 2 or 3 bars at a time then unmute the click and listen back for accuracy. this is easier w/ drums, but really isn't as bad as everyone makes it up to be. lately i've been tracking every...

M Patch
hey guys, got my rosetta 200 rockin' and let me say, it rocks. i'm super pleased and haven't even tracked anything yet. on the subject of monitoring.. what have people found out about the m-patch? it's a passive design, and much cheaper than the goldpoint(i think that's the unit). i just really need...
