analog studios in rocky mountain area?

i'm looking for a 'reasonably priced' (no more than $400/day) analog studio (preferably 2" 16/24 tracking and 1/2" mixing) in the denver area or in nearby cities/states. any links to websites or any other info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Re: OK, most obvoius use of auto tune on a song

what's that band called, Evanescense or something (nu-metal band with the female singer)? anyway, when that single comes on the radio, i have to leave the room it's so bad. also, avril lavigne (however you spell it) basically, any song where a singer holds out a note and it stays robotically steady ...

Re: Chrome

that record blew my mind when i first heard it. there was nothing like that stuff in the late 70s (or now for that matter). i guess some people would say that the record is completely 'shitty' sounding, but one has to appreciate the left-field production techniques. i remember reading some old inter...

Re: Boulder/Denver Area

for record stores, you could always check out Wax Trax and Twist and Shout (they both have good vinyl stores). there's also a place called Double Entendre, but it's a little more catered to the super indie crowd. as far as restaurants, all i know are the good vegetarian places.. a few friends of min...

tascam 788, general opinions and specific ?s..

i'm curious about the Tascam 788 portastudio. any general opinions about it from other users would be appreciated, but i had 2 specific questions about it: 1. how much disc space was provided. the specs weren't very straightforward about it, which worries me. (i hope it's not something where you can...

Re: After 3 years, my first post: DIY Rock Track, comments?

besides a lot of what's already been said (especially the hi-hat thing), the only other thing i'd say is that maybe the recording (the intro vocals especially) isn't quite bright enough and seems a bit 'cloudy'. but of course, that is a pretty simple EQ thing. maybe you just have a trebly stereo or ...

Re: New Metallica

Yeah, the problem is that Lars is a shitty drummer. His kick hits are really uneven. yeah, i won't deny that (i've seen live metallica TV performances and yeah, lars' drumming is embarrasing in spots.) but the bass drum is most likely triggered (or heavily edited, same difference) on the even parts...

Re: critique: you know the drill..

i must admit i don't hear the 'too much bass' thing. i listened to similar style mp3s and they seemed to have a lot more low end punch compared to the ODW song. perhaps the bass that is there in the song is just too muddy? i kinda agree about the vocals, but then again, that was the band's judgement...

Re: New Metallica

does anyone notice the bass drum weirdness? it's obviously triggered, yet is way louder on the downbeats to the chord changes (i thought part of the 'logic' behind triggering was to make it sound the same on ALL the beats). i heard the song on my little TV, i don't even wanna imagine what i'd sound ...

if you are bored and feel like critiquing a recording go here: www.mp3.com/one_dying_wish song: 'falling grey skies' i demoed this in my basement about a month ago for a friend's 'emocore' band. i just want to see if the things i think are bad about the recording come accross obviously. i recorded i...
