It's amazing where that SM7 shows up on record.
Michael Jackson - All over Thriller
RHCP - Definitely on BSSM
Wilco - AM
Now the Black Crows. Hmmm.... ???
I use to use that mic at a previous in-house job and was amazed at how it handles the human voice. Definitely on the list.

Here is the correct chain: Software ---> Sound Card Out ---> REamp ---> Pedals (amps, etc) ---> Direct Box (or preamp with a High-Z input) ---> Sound Card In ---> Software. I'm about to do the same thing. REamping seems like a solution to many many issues. I'm especially excited about recording guit...

Is anyone using the Lexicon MX-200 with DP, Cubase, Live5???
Is anyone using the MX-200 with DP, Cubase, or Live5??? http://www.lexiconpro.com/mx200/index.asp This is the unit that enables you to use it as a VST or AU plug-in for out of the box processing power. Obviously a good sounding hardware reverb for $199 or less that can be configured as a plug-in is ...

I run the following on my Macs: Peak 4 LE (sold currently is Peak 5 LE) iZotope Ozone I do not consider myself to be a mastering engineer, but I do have projects that require me to take matters into my own hands since they will never be mastered otherwise. I record and mix in Digital Performer, and ...

Use DP's trim plug (very low CPU) on every hot track to bring them down by the same amount (-6db, -12dB, etc). Place it first in line so that you are reducing the signal that is going to other plug-ins. Ths will give you the headroom that you need. I prefer to use the trim plug if there is a big dif...

You can't use FW800 with the M-audio firewire drivers. Wow. Thanks so much. That is great information. I have several options. The Lacie FW drive has USB2.0, FW400 and FW800. It does not need to be connected to my system at all times, since it is strictly a backup drive. The lack of play be...

M-Audio Firewire 1814 issues with my Mac G5
Maybe I've been spoiled. Maybe I just took MOTU for granted. My 828mkii needs to be repaired. It's 2.5 yrs old and the screen is dead, S/PDIF is having problems in one channel, etc. Up until 4 months ago it performed flawlessly and I love it. Since I needed a backup plan while it is away, I decided ...

I always assumed that this was one way of doing things, then doubted my logic because of the fact that most Re-Amp boxes on the market are in the $200 price range. I use my Presonus MP20 as my DI at home / remote, so opening up and experimenting with the DOD DI boxes won't hurt. Thanks for the info....

Regarding the SH32 for cheap and nasty synth i highly recomend this bad boy here, esp since they're only about $199. I'm a fan of analog boxes and VIs, so I don't consider myself to be an "analog snob" per se. I think that some of the sounds in the MicroKorg sound good, and a lot fo the bands that ...
