Doesn't every midi controller keyboard made in the last 15 years send MIDI out of both a MIDI port and USB port?

As for software to do this, I'm interested as well. I use ableton LIVE for this but I'm sure there are simpler options as well.

It has a very "vintage" sound to me, which I know is hard to describe. almost like singing on a really nice ribbon mic. it's smooth on top but not really ...
