FS/FT: Tape Machines (Ampex, Tascam)
Ampex 440B 1" 8-track - Fair cosmetic shape, good working order. could use some set-up, but it does currently record and playback on all 8 tracks without issues. It's literally the size of a refrigerator, so pick-up only (Kansas City area). You do not want to pay shipping on this. I haven't really ...

FS: Tascam 38 parts machine
Relisting this because I need to get this out of the house. Thanks to UPS, the back plastic panel is caved in. There are a lot of good parts to be pulled out of this machine though - motors, meters, belts, guides, etc. The heads are in fantastic shape.

FS: MoogerFooger Low-Pass Filter pedal
Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter pedal. In near mint condition with 9V adapter and manual. $210 shipped. Pics on request.
I'm giving it 'till Friday, then it's off to Ebay. The only trade I'd be interested in is toward a Danelectro DC bass.

FS: Tascam 38 parts machine (or just parts)
So I had this sold. Shipped. UPS delivered it to the buyer with a big hole in the box. The rear of the machine got smashed in one spot, and did some damage to one of the circuit boards. All the meters still light up, and the motors work. The heads are in great shape, as are the belts. There's all so...

GarageBand as live performance tool?
I'm looking for a cheap way to run keyboards live. I have an M-Audio 40-something key controller. I like what GB does. Can GarageBand be made to work in this application? the real questions I have are: 1. What's the BARE MINIMUM iBook configuration I'd need in order to run this? I'm thinking of pick...

Takeout, You know I dig you and I think you're a great bass player but, ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY? First off, the drum sounds on LZ records work great for those records. Second, Bonham is far from "lead drums." Yes he did 'drive the bus' which is the drummer?s job. Third, the combination of Bonzo and J...

the common flaw of rock is emulation and a consequent lack of innovation. Well, there it is... it took 5 pages, but here's the real answer. A vexing urge drove a troll/youngster to see if he could stir up the board with this post, but in true Tape Op fashion a reality surfaces. I'd wager I'm as old...

if you don't like big, agressive sounds, then maybe rock and roll really isn't for you. If I have to like "big" drums to the exclusion of everything else (including vocals) in order to like rock 'n roll, then I guess you're right - "big" = "good", no exceptions. P.S. two pages in the time it took t...
