This listing is ancient, but I'll tell you that Black Lodge in Lawrence has my old Ampex 1" 8-track. You might be able to coax it away from them.

Non-"monitor" monitors?

Those of you who've looked outside the "studio monitor!!11~!" manufacturers for your speaker needs: - How does one pick through all the information on all the brands to even select potential candidates? Is there a good spot from which to start? I checked out Audiogon, but you have to kinda already k...

WTB: RCA > 1/4" T/S Snakes.

Like the title sez. I have a 388 and a patch bay that need to be properly introduced to each other. Holler at me.

M88 will take EQ well, plus it has great rejection if you want to track vocals while tracking basics. I usually use onr or scratch vocals because I can actually listen to the scratch without the drum being all fucked up like when you use a mic with crappy rejection... How's the Club these days? A "vocalist" NEEDS a handheld mic to "get int

What do you do? What- Do - You - Do?[/keanu] I'd like to pick up something, since I've had this happen twice in the last year. Screaming, growling nonsense, but I'd still like decent frequency response. Terrible mic technique is a given (eating the mic, cupping it into being a semi-omni, etc.) 57's ...

At what point do you usually set your filter?

Currently favoring a borrowed Evil Twin DI and a 57 on the player's cab. Past experiments have also involved CAD E100s when I want more high end (rare). I keep meaning to pickup a Sansamp Classic for trial purposes. Did a 388 recording recently where the perfect thing for the band was a 57. Period. ...

I don't have a HOG, but I do have a POG, which I use to get a fake Hammond sound on bass to cover keyboard parts. I might experiment with faking a 12-string guitar out of it, but other than that?

I've got AKG K240s and Senn 580s. The AKGs strike me as a bit low-mid humpy (great for "more me" bass players), while the Senns are flat in the same area. The Senns go higher, and in smoother fashion. A/B'ing the two of them, I get pretty close to finished. The Senns are for business, the K240s are ...

TEAC/Tascam Model 15: free to a good home

Rescued a few years ago from a radio station in Austin(?). Needed a power supply, which I never got around to building. Now it languishes in my garage. I gather the mic pres have transformers on the inputs. It's in great shape with the exception of needing a thorough cleaning, and could be a cool pr...

you definitely don't want to ship right? There's really no way to do this. It's a monster. I'd need to build a custom crate and freight it to you; UPS/FedEx/DHL/USPS won't touch this. It'd seriously take less time and money for one to simply borrow a van and make a road trip of it. That's what I di...

Toolshed....If it is like most other 440-8 machines, the electronics should be stacked on top.... If they are, the rack that they are mounted on easily disconnects from the rolling cart thing that the transport is mounted in. If im not mistaken, there are just 4 or so bolts that need to come off.
