Re: High Quality Analog Delay?
I have the DOD 880 Dual Delay (earlier stylings of the 885). Compared with the DM-300 it's more lo-fi and that's why I didn't mention it before. Since it is on the table now I wanted to share my experiences in hopes others may benefit from it... I usually employ it as an aux send 100% wet or, if usi...

Re: High Quality Analog Delay?
Guys, You can't lose with the Boss DM300. This unit rocks. All analog delay and chorus unit. Two inputs, controls for RATE, INTENSITY, and TONE. Mixed output and 100% wet out. Also has attenuation switches for input and output impedances. Ultra quiet, super sexy! Downsides: it's an unconventional sh...

Re: Leslie Cab
Man, Leslies come in many shapes and forms, so yes, the model# is very important here. This will tell you the pinout for the cab, whether or not it has its own power supply (many Leslies DON'T draw current from the organ), how many speeds, rotor styles etc. You can't just "hook it up to a Hammond", ...

Re: best Rhodes option?
Most people don't mention this, but I feel only half of what I love about the Rhodes is "the sound". The other half is how it feels under my fingers and how what I'm playing playing becomes more about emotive expression than a keyboard instrument that sounds cool. I think anyone who has played a wel...

L Contra, WINTER LIVES.
Villa Magica records, 2003.
All original tunes! My personal fave is "It's Not Snowing". "Fat Reindeer" takes a close second.

Re: don cab rocks
Oh man, Bellini is a band, not a person (sorry my post wasn't clear enough)! Check out www.snowingsun.com. They've got two tracks on there they recorded with Damon Che. New album is due out soon with the GvsB guys. Italy has some of the most badass underrated bands...

Re: don cab rocks
An aside to the Bellini mention: Che plays on the album SNOWING SUN and no longer plays with this band. It was a pretty messy seperation from what I understand. Bellini now plays with the drummer from GvsB and they still totally rip.

Re: An open letter to gear manufacturers from an end user.
Could be wrong about this, but I think Speck made a pretty badass line level mixer (16x8x2? w/ rockin' EQs on every channel) awhile ago. A friend of mine has two of them linked together and they seem to work really well. Unfortunately I can't remember the model number and a quick google search just ...

What's the name of the Moog film and the premier date? I'd totally drive down from Boston to see it.

Re: slingerland marching snare revisited
Try looking up Grover percussion. They do tons of really great custom snares for ALL types of drums. You might be able to find exactly what you need from them. Neil Grover plays w/ the Boston Symphony Orchestra and he knows his stuff. Really nice guy too.
good luck,
Michael
