I like the Green Album for the same reason I like the first two - the songs are catchy and just an all-around fun CD to listen to, especially in the car. There's two or three songs I like from Maladroit even though the guitar and keyboards sound like crap. It all fell apart after the Green Album whe...

The Beatles Complete Recording Sessions
I just finished the book, by Mark Lewisohn, and was amazed at how many of today's engineering and record production techniques originated from Beatles sessions. The sections of the White Album and Sgt Pepper, with all the tape loops, session players, sound effects, miking techniques, etc, were proba...

Personally I think the Audix D4 is a great kick drum mic that's in your price range. To me it sounds alot heavier and fuller than the D112. I really like the Rode NT-1A on vox, acoustic instruments, and for ambient sound. The AT 4050 is another excellent multi-purpose mic, although I'm not sure how ...

Would anyone recommend this digital 8-track?
My friend and are are thinking about buying a Tascam DP-01FX digital 8-track to build a small home studio for recording demos. I've been researching the console and it looks like a good deal. I was wondering if anyone else has any opinions on it? The info on it can be found here: http://www.musician...

I'm definately interested in the intern position, but may not be able to do it until the end of summer. I live in Binghamton NY right now, and I'm working to save up some money so I can move to a place like Brooklyn. I can send you my resume in the meantime, in case there's anything open in a few mo...

Looking for a job in the New York Area...
Hello all,
I am looking to get a job in a recording studio and could use any help I can get. Currently, I live in upstate NY but am willing to relocate. I am very skilled with Pro Tools, and have experience with other software, live sound equipment, and some analog gear.
