15+ years of paper Tape Op magazines

I've saved a bunch of paper Tape Op magazines going back to 2005. Most of the issues between then and now are here, but I'm sure a few issues are probably missing here or there. I need to make room so I was going to recycle them but I thought someone here might be interested. All together they are h...

I usually use K14 for everything, but for a podcast I'd be tempted to use K20 since there are (hopefully) way more dynamics than most modern music.

Catchy tune. Regarding the mix: good overall. I dig the balance, though the left acoustic guitar is a bit out on its own. I'd probably move other elements between it and center to fill that space a bit more. Maybe a reverb/delay return panned there or something? Also the upper bass is a bit muddy, l...

I don't have time for belligerently ignorant people too stupid to see their own self contradictions.

Depending on the room, I'd be tempted to set the amps up at a 90 degree angle, and set up a pair of ribbons in blumlein right at the focal point of the triangle. Supplement those with a pair of dynamics (some like 57s, I prefer Heil PR20s) close up, at an angle to the speaker. In all cases, each mic...

I did it once, with a friend, in like 2008 or something. It was a good exercise for me at the time, to learn to just get shit down & done and not obsess over details like I am prone to doing.

Great fun. Highly recommend it, especially for Nick's reasons. The work must flow.

Fucking great album, one of the best of the year IMHO. I also saw them live, and despite the HORRIBLE acoustics of the State Theater in Portland Maine it was an awesome show.

A lot of great songs. Their cover of Tomorrow Never Knows was over the top fantastic.

With that said, should I be trying the Studio One? Reaper is cool, and pretty much all the DAWs can all do 98-99% of the same stuff. This is no exception. But yeah, the Studio One setup works great for me. All about workflow. And the stock plugins that come with Studio One are fabulous. I also love...

I kept an older version of Sonar and used it for years, because it was familiar and comfortable. Then, I got a new laptop and interface, and installed the free version of Studio One that came with it. And, like, wow. It was a paradigm shifter and a game changer. Sometimes software gets bloatier and ...
