Help choosing a DAW for mobile recording/songwriting

I was having a hard time choosing my words for the topic title, I didn't want it to come across as "what's the BEST..." etc., but I do need recommendations. I've been out of the recording thing for 2 years; I got distracted by the less appealing aspects of life (bills and working a 9-5.) So I decide...

My favorite reply from the other thread was 2. If you do not have a moustache, you will be required to wear one of my fake moustaches. This is one of my main rules, there will be no compromises. This should be mandatory for all studios. I have a similar idea for a compilation of a bunch of different...

you would probably get a lot more work if you didn't try to nickel and dime your clients to death. john The irony in this statement for me is that while trying to give clients more at $25/hr than I got when I recorded for $50/hr, I actually lose business for the simple fact that somebody can just h...

Do most studios charge for this?

Also, do most studios charge per-day rentals for amps and e-bows? If so, why? Is it because you have to physically rent it from a place? If you have it in the studio, why charge to use it?

So this is what it was like when bands had musicians that could play their instruments!

I sometimes feel sad that I'm growing up in the 1990's-2000's.

Dude, you wan't to be rich and famous.
I didn't know "wa" was a word.

Edit: And for the record, I fully realize this is either satire or extremely pathetic.

Thank you so much for all of your opinions. I've heard much worse recordings from this area for $40/hr+ so I think I'm doing alright around here. I will keep everything in mind so I can improve my next session well beyond these recordings. I'm sure I'll be back for more constructive criticism. Thank...

I'm surprised to hear that about his drumming. Now, are my drum sounds really bad, or are you saying it's just his drumming? And if it's my sounds, what can I do to improve them? I understand the guitar thing. I would have liked to take more time and get better tones but we were on a pretty tight de...

Really? Hmm...

What do you recommend?

Why would you automatically say it was the gear's fault?

I always struggle with that. Sometimes I feel they're way too loud, but if I turn them down they seem too quiet. I can't seem to find a happy medium.

The band specifically wanted them louder so you could hear the accent cymbals. Just so you're aware.

Rock demo/EP- how'd I do?

I recorded this band last weekend (the 27th-28th.) We did 4 songs on Saturday and spent Sunday on vocals. This is my second project. It was the first one that I actually kept the drum sounds I got. The last project I used my recorded drum sounds, but drumagogged (a verb now, I guess) to minimize the...
