I'll post a once the mixing is finished.

I guess I just thought this was a cool method because the e602 was so off-axis, sorry if some of you are underwhelmed.

Does anyone have some webspace that I don't have to register to use? I have a diagram and a .wav file all ready to go.

quick update

I just wanted to stay on top of this a little in case anyone is thinking of dropping some money on an ATB. I think I mentioned that one of the channels (#14) is really low gain and has to be cranked to be equal to the output of the others, and my VU lights are out...but I have made many, many great ...

New Kick Drum Method

I was doing a session at a studio the other day and a friend of mine, (Dan Long of Headgear Studios (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio)) suggested a really interesting kick drum mic'ing method. I had a Sennheiser e602 and a Blue mouse set up to capture the beater and front of kick respectively. He pu...

Re: New Plate Reverb Maker

http://www.platesonics.com/index.html Has anyone ordered one of these yet? The MP3's sound like.....plate reverb. Duh...that's maybe because... IT IS A PLATE REVERB. Cheers Oooh, you didn't get my subtle attempt at humor. That's okay, I'm sure someone at the rest home can explain it to you if you a...

If you want things to sound like Harvest you might want to borrow an 8 track 1/2 tape machine from someone and track your basics to it with 456 formula tape. That will go a long way towards the tonal quality you are after. Jere is a quick example of me going for the Harvest sound years ago with jus...

No mang, That's Raymond frontin' I thought. I loves me some Idaho falls. Ding Ding Ding! You got it. The Falls are my band. Now lets help this dude make a some orange juice with apples! Jokes, I make jokes. The 610 is a good fucking mic preamp, I love that fact that you can match the impedance of y...

I just got my first Vox amp after being a Fender junkie for a long time. A new AC 15. I put some NOS tubes in it and a Celestion Blue Alnico, and am really really impressed at how full and rich it sounds. It really has 'that' british sound for sure. It is clean even in the high gain stage setting un...

I really like SDC's in X/Y near the drums, or a ribbon mic close to each head depending on the vibe of the music. when i was in avatar, hanging out on a session that giovanni hidalgo was playing on, they just had an AKG C24 about a foot and a half above giovanni's 3 congas. i don't remember what the...
