Picked up a `74 Fender Vibrolux reverb for $80 back in about 91, when CBS Fender amps (according to conventional wisdom) were the worst crap around.

How about a reissue Fender Bassman, makes a nice sounding recording/practice amp for bass (as long as you don't play too loud), and a killer guitar amp.

"Some wierd solid state Italian amp"
Preferably with a really bad spring reverb, instant "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly"
LEM, DNS, FBT are names I dimly recall plugging into in the seventies, and hastily unplugging again.

FWIW, when making set lists for live gigs my band tries to avoid playing two songs in the same key in a row.

Thank you for the links. Nashville 1969 it seems. I was thinking it sounded like Muscle Shoals, maybe they were trying to make it sound that way.

Sunday morning coming down.

Hi
Was listening to Kris Kristoffersons "Sunday morning coming down". A truly great song. Does anybody know where and when it was recorded?

The UM70s is highly regarded. I almost got one a few months ago and did some research, check out http://www.gefell-mics.com/ and try a search at gearslutz.com. If it is genuine then $20 is a nice price...... There have been rumours that someone got hold of a bunch of older Gefell/Neumann casings, pu...

A decent Fender P-bass and throw out the 1980 vintage AriaProII hanging on the wall.

Depends really on how much you pay for the 103 vs. the 414 or other alternatives. I have a 103 and use it on voice, acc. guitars, mono drum overhead, grand piano and other stuff, and it always sounds fine to me and people who listen to my recordings. It also seems to blend in well in a mix. But then...

MS recording with ribbon mic.

Hi. This is my first posting on this forum. Has anybody tried using any of the new Chinese ribbon mics. (Nady, Shiny Box, Golden Age, T-Bone, same thing, different names) as side microphone in an MS array for recording drums, grand piano, or whatever? Are the forward and backward lobes equal or do t...
