Hi everybody...I've decided that it is time to find a new home for my Ampex recorder. Maybe somebody can get this thing up and running. It's a 1 inch 8 track, but it's not in great mechanical shape....If you know what you are doing, It probably would not be really difficult to fix. I don't have time...

Toolshed....If it is like most other 440-8 machines, the electronics should be stacked on top.... If they are, the rack that they are mounted on easily disconnects from the rolling cart thing that the transport is mounted in. If im not mistaken, there are just 4 or so bolts that need to come off. Wh...

This machine is almost in mint condition....Just a couple of very small minor dings on the back or it. It is an 8 track on 1/2". Runs at 15 and 30 ips. This thing is one of the best, most stable decks that i've ever used.....Haven't had one single minor problem with it...Oh yea, it sounds killer...H...

I recently purchased this machine on ebay....I was not getting any kind of signal reading on the peak meters. I called Tascam and they told me that i need a dummy plug plugged into the "to DBX unit" space to complete the circuit. They still had one of these in stock so i went ahead and bought it. We...

ok..cool..so ill just have to look into making the ATR-60 the slave machine assuming that it is compatible with my synchronizer....I would assume that if i call Tascam, they can tell me if the ATR and the sync are compatible since they made both...
